Ping Power Spec'ing

I've fallen for the Blueprint S. Unbeknownst to me, there is a power-spec option for this iron too. While I "get it" in the players distance category (i530), does this make sense for a club like the Blueprint S? No sense or more sense?

Whether retro, standard or power, I was under the impression Ping heads were engineered-specific for each loft package, so the bounce, lie angles, etc. were not effected by post- production bending. What's the scoop?

Incorrect. Retro and power loft start their life as standard, so bounce will be affected by any loft adjustment. Lie angles don't change between power, retro or standard unless you request it.

Players that fit into an iron of this size are probably less concerned about distance, but may use the power spec to help them hit their launch window.

As mentioned above: power or retro spec is the standard lofts bent stronger or weaker. Club bounce and offset are both affected.

They are not like the T100/T100S from Titleist that used 2 different molds with individualised specs.

Power spec is just a fancy way to request irons a couple degrees strong. It's a good idea if it's necessary for the club to gap the way that you want. I went with the standard spec and bent as necessary after hitting the irons. The Blueprint S are fully forged and there's very little concern bending them.

Ping does "engineer" the loft spacing a bit differently (i.e. it's not 2* through the entire set). Not sure how much it really matters though.

The "power spec" and "retro" settings are designed to have a more even effect on yardage gapping than simply doing "minus-2" straight across.

It's just a set of adjustments that the average consumer wouldn't know to do, packaged in a little marketing. For me, it's a lower trajectory and lower effective bounce as I play in wind and hard ground.

If it's a question about BPS, your fitting might have a lot to tell you. Primarily be aware of two things; turf interaction and launch angle. If yours is good, leave it alone. But if you do move it, they'll all move relatively the same.
