Good weekend deals around town?

After paying $72 a couple of weeks ago to play Cinco Ranch, yes THAT Cinco Ranch, I realized that its getting ridiculous to play on the weekends around town. I saw in Avid Golfer that a full rate weekend tee time at Blackhorse is now $95. I know Memo is still under $50, but I don't have naked pictures of any high ranking city officials, so its a little tough to get a decent tee time there on Sat. or Sun. Any hidden gems in terms of weekend rates (before twilight) within an hour of Sugar Land that I should know about? The $52 resident rate at GW isn't looking so bad after all....

I did see an ad in the Chronicle for Tour 18 an all inclusive deal for $49 on the weekend. Breakfast, Lunch and unlimited play. I called and they told me you have to start before 8am to get this deal. After that it goes up to $65.

That sounds like a sweet deal for someone that can get up that early. I personally cant, but for unlimited golf, I might make an effort.

Check out golfnow.com ... sometimes you can get a good deal on tee times through there. We payed $30 to play Blaketree on Sunday last weekend, for example.

What kind of shape was Blaketree in? When I played it last year it was complete crap!

Not much has changed then.

We stood around playing poison on the 1st tee for 30-40min waiting for carts ... guess the whole place only has 40 carts & now that they have reduced the rates some they're getting more play.

Any more websites for deals around Houston anyone?

I use PGA18.com frequently, and they have quite a few courses. (EDIT: Never mind, it looks like golfnow and pga18 use the same engine)

I don't think they are near you, but we'll play Bay Forest (La Porte) and Evergreen Point (Bay Town) on the weekends for around $35 so the deals are out there. How far away are you from Southwyck (in Pearland)?
