Looking for a cool magnetic headcover for my spider

Title says it all. Looking for a square mallet magnetic headcover for spider. I had the original spider but that was blah, then a  Stitch but that seemed like it would fit a mid-mallet better, currently a chico's bail bonds mallet cover from B&B Headcovers (and I love it) but the velcro is failing after less than a year and it falls off quite a bit.

So what's good out there that wont break the bank.

Bring your B&B to a local seamstress and have magnets sewn it 🙂

 

I picked up a couple limited edition Spider HCs last year off ebay for far less than they are selling for now unfortunately, but all the new limited TM HCs have a magnet it them.

I had thought of that, but wasn't sure how to go about it. I'm assuming I would need to go Lowes/ Home Depot for magnets?

I was going to do exactly this to the standard HC for a Spider X (the black ones with the white spider web), as I thought they looked cool, but the velcro sucked on them.  I ended up scoring the "Call Sign" limited edition HC last year.  

 

But I ordered magnets off Amazon.  There's a pretty decent selection on there.

Those might be the exact set I ordered, if not they are dang similar.  You won't have to worry about your headcover coming off, those things are strong!

If you do go this route (great way to keep using the cover you love), make sure to measure your velcro tab and get a magnet with a diameter that would fit.

I am definitely going to resurrect a couple of the other blade covers. I emailed B & B and they said that there was a bad batch of velcro that they got and they'd send me a new one. They also said that they are moving to  magnetic closures so I just might wait on that

The suggestion to put magnets into your existing cover is exactly what I did w/ my Spider X cover. Cut the stitching off the velcro tab on the pleather to remove it. Then made a small straight cut where I removed the velcro tab to insert a quarter sized magnet. Sealed that cut w/ Super Glue. On the flap part of the cover (the side that folds over) you can make an incision at the inside edge of the soft velcro. It'll be like the small change pocket on your jeans.  Insert your other quarter sized magnet here and you're good to go.

 

Been running my Spider X cover like this for at least 6-8 months. Never had an issue.

Thanks for the great idea. I just ordered those magnets and did exactly this. My original spider x cover works again since the velcro was useless.
