Viktor Hovlands counterbalance winn grip - and my putter

I have a two-ball putter - cut down to 31" - really short. Im a 6.1" guy and have a 0 hcp. I know it's too short, but I love putting with it. I see now that I need it to be longer. I looked at Viktor Hovland's counterbalance grip Winn grip, and I think I will buy it. Can you tell me how this will affect my putter? When my putter was originally cut down, did the putter lose too much weight? I want to lengthen the putter before regripping and make it maybe 34" or 35" before putting on Winn counterbalance grip. Do I need to put on weight on the putter head or is it fine to introduce this grip and lengthen the grip? Thank u

You will probably get some better responses than mine - there are a lot of people on here who know more than me, for sure.

 

But, it's an interesting suggestion.

 

If you like the way your short putter feels - then I would hazard a guess that you prefer a light putter head. These days, that can be a hard thing to find.

 

So, a counterbalanced grip may help you to recreate that light clubhead feeling with a shaft length that fits your proportions better.

 

I'm a tinkerer myself, so I'd probably give it a whirl. The most expensive thing you would need is the grip itself. Shaft extensions are cheap and pretty easy to install.

 

But, I'd have a roll of lead tape laying around to make some final adjustments once you get it all put together.
