Help Planning DR Trip - Casa De Campo and Punta Espada

Hi - 

 

Just in the preliminary stages of planning a trip to DR in November 2022.   It would be myself and two others. 

 

We are looking at something in the range of 5-6 days and would probably rent a villa in Casa De Campo for 3 nights and then move to Punta Espada for 2/3 nights and then fly out of Punta Cana. 

 

This would be our first time golfing at these courses so I am looking for any advice on this trip.  

 

1. Are we better of renting a villa through VRBO/AIrBNB?  Ideally we would want three bedrooms so we all aren't shacking up together

2. Greens fees seem a bit steep but worth it - any advice on replay rates or unlimited golf rates?

For those that are wondering - we put together the following schedule. 

 

Day 1 - AM Links Course Casa De Campo   PM Teeth of the Dog

Day 2 - Dye Fore Casa De Campo

Day 3 - Teeth of the Dog

Day 4 -  36 at Punta Espada

Day 5 - Corales

 

Just curious what people think of the Links course at Casa de Campo?  Seems like your regular resort course "a good warm up" for the others.   Is it even worth playing?  Should we do 36 at the Dye Preserve instead?

I think you mean Dye Fore instead of Dye Preserve.   

 

Have only been to Casa de Campo, but it is a fantastic experience and is all inclusive.  Food is great.  You can also consider getting 3 separate rooms instead of a villa.  Rooms are quite large and very convenient to the clubhouse for the Links and Teeth.

Decided to skip the links course as a warm up.  Just going to jump right into it with Day 1:  Dye Fore  then Teeth of the Dog   Day 2: Dye Fore   Day 3: Teeth of the Dog   Day 4:  36 at Punta Espada  Day 5: Corales

How was your trip ? I have only played Punta Espada on a family vacay and it was amazing ! Tying to get my 4some to go to Punta Cana for a trip similar you yours . Give me a review and any tips . Thanks
