Which is softer?

I've been reading that the 08 black spins more than the red. Is this true? I thought the red was softer, which would make it spin more. Anybody know?

I looked on the TM Webite and there's a quote from Retief saying he uses the black on firm fast greens and the red on soft greens? Something just doesn't add up, :tongue:

I've played all three. Black LDP spins more than Red LDP. It's also softer than 2007 Black.

According to the latest Golf Magazine article on golf ball testing, the TM Black is the longest ball in golf for those of us swinging at +/- 90 mph. It is also softer and spins more than the TM Red.

So TM must have changed the way these two balls for 2008. Wasn't the red softer and spun more than the black in the old ball (not LDP)?

The TP Black LDP is a higher spinning ball, flies higher, feels firmer and is designed for the "low spin" player. The TP Red LDP spins less, flies lower, feels softer and is designed for the "high spin" player.

was reading in golfweek, or some other mag and they had a review of the new tm balls. They said if you like the prov1 try the red, and if you like the prov1x try the black. So are we for certain that they switched the balls around for this year?

Golfweek has it backwards. Can't anyone go to the Taylormade web site and read for themselves????
