I'm far from a skilled golfer. Far from dedicated. 

 

I can hit a ball decently 8 out of ten times.

 

I hit irons high, don't know why, but a three iron goes up a long way. Maybe it's spin, maybe it's just dynamic loft, I don't know, and I don't have the tech nearby to find out.

 

I do have a TopTracer range locally. That's how I know that I hit woods, and hybrids, I hit them low off mats. 9.5* driver comes out at 11*. 19* 5 wood at 9*. 19* hybrid at 11*.

 

But 1 small 4cm strip of lead tape at the rear centre of the club, so the lowest edge of the tape is just above the contact area on the base, and the ball shoots off much better. One little bit of weight change. 

 

Now maybe it was just a good day of swinging, maybe it was placebo, maybe it was a grass range space. But there's a significant difference in launch angles for the better. 

 

I'm sold.

Could be any of the above but run with it. Whatever gives you confidence!

 

You didn’t mention this one, but the extra weight could have a good effect on your tempo and timing. Sometimes it doesn’t take much to get the MOI to something that’s optimal for your swing.

 

Trick is to repeat it. Hopefully next time out you get the same results!

Lower CG and a little more shaft flex from the added head weight and there you go. I am really loving lead tape.
 

I rebuilt an RBZ Stage 2 hybrid at a shorter length and midsize grip. Felt light, and the SW calc came in at C7. Low pulls. A bit of lead tape got the swing weight up and now it’s higher and straighter. 

My idea pro A12 20* was launching low. And the Aldila RIPd shaft felt a little dead. A bit of lead tape and the shaft is kicking and it’s launch is higher. 
 

I tend to hit my lob wedge on the toe. A bit of lead tape behind my miss and the toe shots feel good and are more consistent. 
 

Tweaking is one of the most fun parts of the hobby. And I think lead tape looks cool. 😎
