Your unique ball markings

How do you all mark or otherwise identify your ball if it ever were to become an issue on the course?

 

Looking for new ideas and inspiration.

 

I currently use a half-circumference Sharpie line for putting, and either 1, 2, or 3 Sharpie dots. All in blue.

 

I've gone preprinted in the past, but the cost rubbed me the wrong way. It felt extravagant.

I've been letting my daughter draw on for my mark, its cute and i dont have to spend time making a bunch of stupid little dots.

I mark mine the same way but without the line. Each sleeve of balls gets 1, 2, or 3 dots in blue sharpie. Yours looks much cleaner and neater than mine though.

I play yellow Maxflis. I have yet to run into another with them on the course. I do put a single line with a sharpie, though.

Bright purple sharpie - thick dot next to the # and a black putter line over the side opposite of the "Prov1" line. Also currently rocking #99's after the buy 3 get 1 deal a few months back. A little unique I guess.

I use a green star or skull and bones.

Used to just put a blue (Sharpie) dot. But because I have like things in order, it had to be a perfect blue dot the filled in exactly one dimple. 

 

Early this year, however, I stumbled across these little devices available with a huge variety of shapes, and come pre-inked .... you just stamp the ball. Really convenient, and unique.

As everyone seems to mark their balls, I don't have to...🤪

I normally put 2 or 3 big X -es in green or red permanent marker. No matter which part of the ball is up, I can always see the mark, often from a few meters away

Do you have a number from a sport or nickname?  I get 44 and my college baseball nickname on my Pro v1s in the buy 3 get 1 annual sale.  I don't mark them further unless in a big event, or something.

 

I will play left dash on the west coast in a marine layer  - like at Torrey.  If I have to mark it, I just write more 44s on the sides or on either side of the number.

I usually use a red dot next to the number. After coming across my ball and another between fairways with the same mark (same ball and number, as well), I switched to a circle at the end of the brand.

 

My D-I-L, who was riding with me when the ball confusion happened, bought me a stamp with my initials, so that's how I mark my balls now.

Red and black triple track lines on my Srixon. Never played with anyone else who did the same so that's been enough to distinguish my ball.

I did this, I need to do it again. She had fun and it also helped me not to be too serious about a round of golf.

I use a sharpie to put a black line for putting alignment, and pay $1 extra to get a custom number on my balls (something that has meaning to me).

 

I've yet to ever come across anyone else that has been using a ball with that specific number so I've never had any "wrong ball issues".

I simply add 2 small blue or black dots. However, some of my playing partners go full Jackson Pollock and create imitation Cally / TM designs or draw the unseeing eye.

Lol, no shade at you personally but whenever I see a ball with a smiley face, I tend to assume whoever is using that ball is going to get MAD at some point during the round 🤣

Orange dot (university colour and easy for me to spot) left side of brand logo and on the model marker draw a black line continuing from the right side of that marking (just easier to make a straight line). I do play some amateur events and they emphasize provisional balls for pace of play so have been putting a small dot on the left side of the number for provisional 1 and 2 dots for provisional 2 just incase.

I don't. I just emotionally connect with mine and I always know exactly where its gone.

 

I also hit it 10 to 15 yards right of where my playing partners balls are landing so it's easy to distinguish.

Both of my kids have the initials BMW, so I mark my balls with the blue BMW logo.

Play a yellow proV 

surprisingly have never played with anyone playing the same thing.  
I get it, lots of people don’t like yellow balls, but still suprised.

I play yellow Snell MTB-X, so I don't even mark it. But I'm almost out and the next ball will be yellow KSig, so I'm going to have to start.

I outline the brand and number in the lime green sharpie. I play with much older guys and they don't check as close so usually they can see my logo glowing so they leave it along.

I play a yellow Wilson Triad so no need to mark it

If it is white I mark it with 2 blue dots under the number

Most of my balls are orange, so it's usually not an issue. Especially the Pro V1's I dyed, you won't likely see another orange Pro V1 on the course.
