Need to buy or have built a small workbench for my garage so I can work on my stuff. Space is limited but I want enough room to:

Re Grip

Pull shafts

Re Shaft

Have a grinder to prep shafts

Not sure how limited your space is, but something like this would be nice if it's purely for clubbulding.

Couple of 4x4s, 2x6s, and 2x4s is easy enough to throw together yourself. And will easily hold up to just about anything you throw at it. 

Have built a couple of benches for my shop/garage. Constructing the top is usually the part people struggle with deciding on. I prefer a solid core door. You can typically find these on local buy/sell sites for cheap. They're super tough and heavy. And are pretty much the perfect size for a workbench top. I add a 1/4" sheet of hardboard as a "sacrificial" top. Makes it nice that you can just swap a new one if it gets beat up, damaged, etc. 

I know you didn't ask about other shop type items. But since you mention a grinder, I'll add another inexpensive "hack" I've used for similar types of tools (e.g. drill press, belt sander, etc.). Used 3 drawer file cabinets are plentiful and cheap. Bolt on a few casters, and you've got a nice little mobile tool stand with storage. I like to throw a sheet of melamine on top as well. Beefs it up and adds a little versatility for attaching things.

And if that's too big (and/or you don't go DIY), Harbor Freight sells a scaled down version. Either the Menards or HFT one would work OK for light duty stuff.

If you wanted something more robust than the thin sheet metal ones, but not 100% DIY, the Simpson Strong Tie Kit is worth a look. Would allow you to better customize for your space requirements as well.

I am not certain how much space you have, but I’ll provide a different suggestion.

 

Here is an old oak teaching desk that I repurposed as a club building station and shaft/club storage rack. The drawers are perfect for storing grips, club heads, and misc. items needed for repair.  Behind the table I have installed a peg board storage area where I keep some of my essential building supplies.  

 

The desk was heavily water damaged so I first stripped, refinished and sealed all surfaces. Added a plastic liner to the top, which is easy to clean and bolted my vice through the table top.  Added slats to the centre of the table to store clubs and eventually built a shaft storage rack that widened the table.

I’m not one to build stiff so I will probably buy something.
