Wow. This is what I call a superb putter. On my first round out with it, I scored 2 birdies from about 8 ft out. It looks great. It soles nicely at address. You can adjust the lie angle (I made mine about 1* flat). The grooves roll the ball smoothly. No hopping of the ball at all, even on long lag putts. I prefer heel shafted putters with a little offset to get my hands a little forward of the ball. This putter fits the bill. Great for lag putting. The ball feels softer off the face, vs. the Rife 2 bar mallet, Aussie blade, and Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless Newport 2 putters.

Here are my comments on the other putters that I own (in order of forgiveness on mishit putts):

Guerin Rife 2 bar mallet (center shaft, no offset): My first Rife putter. Extremely forgiving on mishit putts. More forgiving than the Barbados. Great weighting system. You can adjust the lie angle. Great for lag putting. Only thing that I didn't like was how it looked. However, this putter is really great.

Guerin Rife Aussie (newport 2 blade): Great looking putter. Not as forgiving as the Barbados. Rolls the ball nicely, just like all the other Rife putters.

Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless (newport 2 blade): Another great looking putter. The least forgiving of all the putters that I've owned. You really need to hit the putter on the sweet spot to get the ball rolling true towards the target, especially on long lag putts. Playing this putter really makes one appreciate how good a putter and ball striker Tiger Woods really is.

I hope this mini-review helps prospective putter buyers.

I concur that this is a fine putter.

 

I think it hasn't garnered more praise due to other manufacturers high-profile, high-marketed offerings, that seem to be on everyone's hot list. This is one putter that I have found to just be right for me. Putting is such a feel aspect of the game that everyone is bound to have their unique views....

 

IMHO more people should try this putter - I think they would be surprised at how good it really is.

I have recently gotten this putter also. I would like it a bit flatter. How did you bend it? It does not come with the bending attachment the weighted putter does?

i just won one on e-bay 110 bucks brand new. You can buy the Lie Aline bending tool on the Rife website for 9.99

NYJETS1 is correct about where to get the lie angle bending tool. I had one from my previous rife putter (2 bar mallet), which i bought directly from the Rife website.

 

I bought my barbados from TGW.com because:

 

1. I could get it faster.

2. I didn't need the lie angle tool for the aforementioned reason (TGW.com doesn't include the bending tool).

 

PS Played another round today and rolled in 4 birdies and 10 1-putts for par saves! Great putter!!!!!
