Driving Range Safety

Hello all. We reside on a driving range and while I have tried to obtain info from the city no one seems to know my answers. Curious if anyone knows typical corridor widths and safety setbacks for a driving range? Asking as we do not have any protection and the amount of golf balls has drastically changed. Thanks.

I think we are going to need a Google Maps picture of the driving range and your house.

 

How has the amount of balls changed?  Net fell down?  Different balls?  You moved your house closer?   Was the driving range there before you bought the house?

Hard to say every city of county can have differing rules and definitions of what is if at all required.

 

First question is was the house there first or the range? While again it doesn't apply to all areas many areas give the place that was there first the benefit. i.e. if the range was there first it's on the homeowner as they were aware and vice versa if the house was there first. Again, that is not in all cities.

I just had a simailar discussion with the owner of my local course last week. He was telling a story of the homeowners demanding that the course buy new windows and other such things for him. He stated that his insurance guy said that either way whether the house was there before or after, the homeowner is responcible fot the repairs, just like if you have a tree on your property and a lange branch falls off on their side and does damage, the other home owneer is responcible for  fixing their own damage. That is what he said his insurance agent told him

Sounds like what we have here in Finland. Every household has an insurance that covers incidents involuntarily caused by another party. However, if the damage has been caused by negligence or such then the person who caused the damge is responsible.

 

For example, if a tv set starts a fire on the 3rd floor and smoke and water damage other apartments nearby the owner of the tv set is only responsible for the damages within their apartment. If the other have no insurance... tough life for them.
