GC Quad reporting an Error A04 (now LO9) - anyone had this?

Hey all,

I have had my quad since June 2018 and it has always run without issue since that time. I have used it almost every week, usually multiple times a week to work on my golf game, and play sim golf with the kids, etc.

This AM out out of the blue, the boot up process hung up on the "Diagnostics" dot point. Hanging for a bit -- it then showed "Computer Failure Error Code A04". The system seemed to be locked up -- and had to hold the power button down for about 7 sec before it shutdown. I plugged the unit in and rebooted - same issue. Tried again - same issue.

Anyone know what that error is? Anyone know if there is a hard reset sequence that will get it to clear any residual memory to see if that solves the issue?

The unit has worked flawlessly for nearly 5 years - and nothing has changed. It never goes outside, it was not hit by anything. Any thoughts before I contact Foresight?

 

UPDATE: 

I updated the firmware on my quad to the latest (the update worked). 
 

Still hangs for a moment on Diagnostics and now says “Error L09”

 

I opened a ticket, I hope Foresight come through with some kind of software fix.  My PC is able to communicate with the unit - and I pulled the logs.

Sending it to Foresight -- they gave me an RMA.  Hopefully it's a quick repair.

@Qwiklap how did the repair go and cost/timing/etc?  My Quad just quit working mid game and now won’t even boot up.  Reached out to support and hoping to get it fixed quickly/cheaply.

It was expensive and took too long in my opinion.

 

Mine needed a new motherboard (which I was told is the most expensive part), so it was about $1600.  It took over a month from when I shipped to when it got back.  A week of that time was just delay with my repaired unit sitting awaiting shipping.

 

So it was not great .. but I had no choice.  Otherwise my unit was a brick.  It works fine now though.

That’s what I am afraid of. I shipped it back last week and they told me a month or more.  Guessing it will be expensive as well. But to your point, really no choice. Fingers crossed it won’t cost me much more than what you had to pay.
