V1 Software

For the last few years i've been recording my swings on my iPhone with the V1 app.  It used to allow me to send videos to my email, save them to my phone outside of the app and toggle my swing in a frame by frame setting to view where I was at certain points of the swing.  It was also a lot easier to trim the swings to shorten the file.  It seems like I can't do any of this anymore.  Did they change something?  If so, what are some good apps to do what I used to be able to with V1?

V1 send out countless emails over many months about the need to back up videos and losing locally stored videos in the app.  I assume you can still get it again and have the functionality you had before.

They said you can't save them to your device anymore and that they got rid of the old app.  Are there any other similar ones out there?

So is there no way to export new videos?  I can’t take a video inside v1 and then send save it anywhere except the v1 app?  So I can’t send it to my instructor and if I stop paying for the app I lose all my history?

Pretty much. 

 

With version 3.0 and higher you can only send videos to your "V1 Coach"  You can't even save them to iCloud or Google Drive like before.   Not a welcome update for sure. 

 

 Ask your swing coach how he prefers to get your videos.  I don't use V1 for any videos I send to my coach.

 

As for losing your swing history, yep....everything on your V1 cloud vanishes when you unsubscribe. 

 

My opinion is that the current V1 app is a downgrade from the previous versions.

I find Apple’s video playback to be kind of annoying to use.

Use OnForm (free if you keep deleting things) or find someone to add you to their CoachNow.
