Interesting look at Max Homa's swing before & after working with Mark Blackburn

Recommended Posts

Found these pictures of Max Homa & wanted to get some feedback on them. I love Max's game, he's my current favorite player. As I understand, he & Mark Blackburn worked to flatten his swing due to shoulder flexibility issues when Max used to try to get his arms higher. It seemed to set off a chain reaction of issues as it affected his balance.

I'm not sure where I found this, I saved it as a PDF. I think they are posed still shots, something like this is where I was & this is where I am now. I'm just wondering if the shot on the right is actually where he's working to get to or an exaggeration? Should the clubhead be that far behind the hands when the clubshaft is parallel to the ground (P6?)

Feel ain't real.

This topic would be far better if we had actual video or something of the two different swings, not "here's where I felt like I was, and here's probably a slight exaggeration of what I'm trying to do now."

This is not, despite what the title says, a look at his before and after swing.

I think I remember seeing this video, and yes it’s a massive exaggeration of what he first felt. He is nowhere near that now. I believe what they wanted was more depth to shallow it easier, but still hit fades like he does now.

either way as others said 2 screenshots is pretty meaningless to look at.

It's no big deal, but if you ever do have good videos of his old swing and his new swing from good camera angles… that'd be worth seeing/discussing.

There are plenty of good videos on YT of his current swing but I haven't found anything that is clearly from before he started working with Mark Blackburn.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
