I understand that not everyone can drop $200, $300 or $400+ on a golf club, even if it is responsible for 40%+ of their strokes on the course, yet they'll drop $400-500+ on a stick that they'll hit MAYBE 13-15 TIMES a round, and then guys wonder why 95%+ of the guys that ya see at your typical driving range are chops😂😂. That said, I still can't believe that the only wilson putters listed are the Walmart special Wilson Harmonized line, yet THE most ICONIC putter that Wilson has EVER produced, the 8802, is available for $100-130. Granted, this is the circa 2013 release, which MSRP'd at $129.99, and Staff just released their circa 2023 edition, which can be had for $349.99, though the 2013 edition more than holds its own as I own both, and while the $349.99 8802 is indeed a great putter and in my mind worth every penny of that $349.99, the circa 2013 8802 putter is still in my bag and will remain their for the foreseeable future. 

 

The circa 2013 8802 is 35", with an incredible feel beautifully dual milled face along with a classic red Lamkin 3GEN smooth pistol grip. I favor the same Scotty grip and put it on all of my putters regardless of brand, though this grip feels so good that I let it be!! Also, the 8802 still uses the True Temper Staff Head Speed shaft(For those who collect the Original 8802, pictured below with Mr. Palmer's Sig, which Maddie got for me, the Chinese knock-offs are spot on down to passing the "nickel test," though the Head Speed label is way off and looks like I did it when I was on dilaudid🤪). Also, the head cover is Top-Shelf, and I do mean TOP SHELF!! I've got the Scotty collectibles along with all of the big premium companies' best covers, including Miura collectable covers. This Staff cover is that nice as it is the only OEM cover that I've EVER bagged. I store em with their covers then put a custom on em when I bag em.

 

Though this is a true "blade" putter, I remember when they started calling the Ping Anser/Scotty Newport a "blade," 😂😂😂, and we were like "WTF," as compared to the 8802, the Anser/Newport is a semi-mallet(seriously), and like blade irons, blade putters are not for everyone, one should at least experience trying this putter as it is much much easier to develop a feel and consistent putting stroke with the 8802 than it is for the same swing with a blade iron, or God forbid, one of these monstrosities that they call a mallet today. I've converted probably at least 10-12 guys who'd never tried a true blade/8802 and upon rolling one, they saw how easy that it was to align and stroke, with probably half of em having been using mallets prior(straight back straight through versus arc, and you do not need a "strong" arc as some Pro will tell ya cuz trust me, I don't have a strong arc and I've outputted most of the Class A's in this area with money on the green💸💵, lol.

 

Anyhoo, while the Harmonized putters listed above have goose eggs, you can slap one down for the write-in 8802, and I'll put me and my 8802 up against anyone and their Harmonized, lol😂😂
