I'm giving it to the R10, but in spite of a lot of options being released over the last 12 months, no one is that close to the perfect consumer unit IMHO.

What I really want is a built in screen, just drop and go, on a photometric unit. Really surprised Skytrak+ didn't go that route.

Think FSK / SC-4 type screen ideally.

You cannot beat the foresight and trackman. That said, the R10 is great for amateurs (me)

If money is no object, it’s Trackman 4 for me. Best software/mobile app. Online account tracks everything. Multiple camera input options. Good indoors and out. Full sim capabilities with great software.

Since price is important, It’s Full Swing Kit for me. No stickers. Self leveling. Drop and go. Easy app syncing. The accuracy is getting better and better with every update. The mobile app integration and videos and really well done. Adding a 3D driving range view to the app would make it a real killer. I don’t have space for a full sim, so that being a missing link in this unit isn’t a deal killer to me but I can understand that isn’t ideal for a lot of potential buyers.

The BLP, considering all features and benefits for the money (and for an individual user) is an easy winner, for me. Winning features, for me, include:

  • Super compact indoor setup. As a photometric unit, there’s no need for a specific/larger indoor distance to screen or unit distance to the back of the ball. The BLP measures ball and club data across an 18in distance with multiple high-speed cameras. You only need to be able to safely swing a club indoors, net can be a few feet away. By contrast, radar products often need 8-12’ distance from unit to ball and then 8-15’ from ball to screen.
  • Insane battery life, for a launch monitor. I’ve used others that absolutely require an external battery or power cable within one session. The BLP lasts multiple sessions with no interruption.
  • Easy to setup (being a foresight product: you set it beside your ball, indoor or out, and swing away). Club data requires a single metallic sticker on your club, no special balls are needed (and no stickers are needed on the ball itself)
  • Data is visible directly on the launch monitor (yet also in mobile and pc apps)
  • For folks wanting sim golf, BLP + gspro is an easy winner, for me, ($250 annually, 500 courses, pc only). You only need the basic Bushnell plan to enable sim. No need to buy FS sim products (which are super nice, but spendy).
  • Frequently available on discount + refurb pricing around $2500.

Most notable cons, from my view:

  • The price is more than many want to spend — but required for the quality of data and feature set.
  • If right and left- hand users will be using in the same session, it’s a pain to constantly move the unit accordingly. A radar unit behind the ball works better, as it doesn’t need to be moved. However, the cons of a radar unit persist: you need more room, can be more difficult to align, radar units can be very spendy. A solution is an overhead LM but those are very spendy, comparatively.

There's Trackman and Foresight...then everything else.

Some great offerings from others but its not even close.

It's a category that really needs price bands. Or outdoors v. indoors.  I like my SC200, for what it does, but LOL at it being better than Trackman or a GC Quad.  Other than on price, of course.
