Steeper AOA with irons wanted

I have been working on stack and tilt for months and I'm looking to dial in a little more. My AOA from wedges to 7i range from say -1 to -2.  I want to get a hair steeper for some more spin, and I just can't do it with the technique in this book. Without doing anything dramatic, has anyone with stack and tilt managed to get steeper?

TIA

Better yet....abandon S&T and work with a qualified instructor like Monte or Dan Carraher, or AMG either in person or online....or someone with a good reputation around you.  Anybody teaching a swing method is a red flag IMO.  Look for someone who teaches based on what good players are measured doing and you will be on a better course.

I wish. Unfortunately the golf scene here is bleak. I just read the book and that's how I got into it.

I’ve learned everybody has their “methods”. Stack and tilt is no different than AMG in each having their beliefs.

Personally, I wouldn’t categorize AMG as method teachers. They’re simply teaching what elite players actually do, based on 3D mocap data.

Am I remembering right that S&T only had a handful of Tour players on board in its heyday? Are any remaining?

Most teachers do have preferences, that’s true. I would run from stack and tilt, though. Its not all bad, but there are some fundamental concepts that I think are terrible.

get a broken tee, and put it in the ground a couple of cm, 1/2 inch target side of the ball. Angle it so the cap is closest to the ball and the tee goes into the ground at an shallow angle.

Swing and try and knock the tee into the ground. Think of a hammer driving a nail into a block of wood at an angle,  experiment with the distance the tee is from the ball.

Thanks. I'll try that.

This kind of training can be helpful but it has to be accompanied by addressing the swing issue or it can make things worse.

@petep5280

Angle of attack is a number. It can be a symptom of other issues, but it’s not a root cause. -2 with a 7i is great for some people depending on their clubhead speed. If you are interested in increasing spin I assume this is because you are having trouble holding greens? We would need to see the swing to really provide helpful information on how to help you hold greens better.

      Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
