Comboing Taylormade Irons?

For those of you who have comboed the P7MB or P7MC with P770s, how did you adjust the P770s for gapping?  I'm going to blend the P7MBs with the 770s at the 5 iron.  I like the gapping for the 6 - PW so really don't want to mess with lofts in those.  The TM fitter suggested going 1.5 weak in the 770s, but that seems a little too much.  I'm getting older and the 4,5,6 are bunching up a bit so I look forward to a little more kick in the top end.

Well the 770 is a rocket ship compared to the 7mb so 1.5 weak might not be a bad thing

With a mb/770 combo, yes, carry two 6 irons.

If you go 770 to the 5-iron, your 6-iron in the MB at standard is going to be a 5.5* gap to the 5-iron.  If you're in love with the MB's at the 6iron, my suggestion would be to weaken the 770 5-iron one degree and strengthen the MB 6-iron 0.5 degree.  But you could also just follow Forgiveness Level 2 for the MC/MB combo and just adjust the 770's the same as it shows for the MC's - the lofts at the 5-iron down are almost the same for 770 and MC and you probably won't tell much difference.

 

I followed Forgiveness Level 3 on my 770/790 set and it's worked very well.
