Golf Course Recommendations in Orlando (around $100)

Hey guys, going to be in Orlando in the end of January for a few days and looking for some course recommendations around $100.  Will probably be playing around 4-5 rounds.  Thanks in advance.

What part of Orlando are you staying in and how far are you willing to travel?  Also, what time of day are you willing to play?  You could play just about any course in the Orlando area for less than $100 if you tee off in the afternoon.

we haven't booked a place yet, but thinking about staying somewhere south of Orlando.  We don't mind driving an hour or so.  We were thinking Southern Dunes, Mission Inn and Lake Jovita.  We have two days where we will be playing 36, one afternoon round another day and one morning round another day.

Since you're looking to play 36 holes, Orange County National and Champions Gate would be worth looking into since they each have 2 courses and Champions Gate has a 3rd course not far from the property

Southern Dunes is $79 after 1:30 pm for out of staters. That's a good deal and if you book the first tee time after 1:30 you'll get in 18 holes before dark.

Southern Dunes is a good course to base your trip around. There are resorts in the area that offer rentals through VRBO and Airbnb. If you stay near highway 27 near Championsgate,  Southern Dunes may alos have  some houses available for short term rental

 

The Championsgate courses are more than $100 until 2 pm. I play there a lot in the off season, but too expensive in Winter. For your morning rounds, courses in that vicinity that I'd rescommend are:

 Highlands Reserve, which is $65 in the morning. It's a really good design, lots of elevation changes, new greens and in the best condition it's been in years.

 

Legends of Clermont is another good choice that will be less than $100 in the morning.

 

White Heron is $75 in the morning. It's in good shape, but has some tight driving holes with lots of water in play, so expect to lose a few balls. 

 

For an afternoon round, I'd play either course at Orange County National. You can play for $99 starting at 1 pm.  I played Panther Lake a couple days ago and it's a fun, challenging course. Another option is Celebration, which is also $99 after 1 pm.

 

Lake Jovita is a long drive from the Orlando area as it's closer to Tampa. Mission Inn has two nice courses, but it's a longer drive if you are staying Southwest of Orlando. I'd skip those on this trip and focus on the ones i mentioned above.
