Ping ISI Beni shaft recommendation

I've got a set of Ping ISI Beni irons headed this way but need to swap out the stiff shafts with regular flex.

I've been using UST Mamiya Recoil 65 graphite shafts in the set of BeCu irons I have, but curious is there anything else out there worth trying.

Any recommendations?

I re shafted my BeNi set with Nippon AWT 2.0 Regular flex shafts and really like them. Although not graphite, they weigh around 98 grams and are easy on my wrists and elbows.

Went with Nippon N.S. PRO ZELOS 6 shafts. A little lighter than the AWT coming in at 68 grams.

Hard to not go with the Mamiya Recoil graphite shafts but needed to keep costs down a bit.

I was hesitant to pick up another set of Beni. Got rid of the first set because they didn't feel as soft as the BeCu that I normally use. Price was just too good to pass up and I need a winter project to pass the time with. Reshafting and gripping a few irons is always a good winter project.

Looks like a fine choice. I have a set of ISI BeCu’s as well that I’m looking to re shaft as they have the same Nippon’s as my BeNi’s. It’s nice to see so many light weight steel shaft options before I have to go graphite. I also agree on the feel between the two… BeCu’s are very buttery;)

Love the smooth dark patina on those. Lovely.
I’ve just retired my BeNi set but will keep them for sure. I’m just hunting for a bit more ball speed in the irons these days. I reshafted them not too long ago with R300 hard stepped to get them to a soft stiff. Played great.

Now I think I know why the BeNi ISI irons were such a steal.

Was getting everything ready to re-shaft this weekend and notice they were personalized with a previous owner's name engraved on the hozel. Not sure who Steve Sheppard is but he took really nice care of his irons. Only had to remove one little strip of lead tape from the sand wedge.

Would have preferred the name not be there but for $200 for a 3-SW set, I can't complain much.

The first set of BeNi ISI irons I had were black dot and I just didn't like the feel of them. I ended up selling them but felt that BeNi deserved a second chance. Then I run across a set of green dot (what I've been fitted for) BeNi ISI irons that was too hard to pass up.

Finally got a break in the weather and was able to take them out to the range for a test drive. Swapped out the stiff shafts for Nippon Zelos regular flex shafts. I don't know if it's the difference in green dot vs. black dot or the shafts, but this set of BeNi feel really good. Ball flight was a little higher than what I see with the BeCu ISI irons but nothing to complain about. Hopefully the weather will hold out this week and I can take them out to the course to see if they continue to perform as well.

Glad I didn't give up on the BeNi and will likely join the group that keeps going back and forth between BeCu and BeNi irons. Such a terrible problem to have.
