25th anniversary at Andrews golf clubs

I have a set of 25th anniversary St Andrews 1984 open championship golf clubs! Any of you wonderful golfers know if they are worth anything, found a similar set for £711 gbp but one difference is on the back of face the 1s being sold? There is almost like a silhouette which is not on the clubs I have, I’ve the full set 3-pw all in great condition considering from what I’ve read a 2004 set of clubs.

Odd that there's no reference to Seve. I didn't realise that the 25th anniversary of his win was such a big deal, obviously it was to someone....but who?

Honestly haven’t a clue, just what I’ve found online so far, but ran into a dead end, these are what I found on eBay

You've piqued my interest. I'm in the UK and I've come across Lincs Golf before, they do have some strange ideas about values on other clubs.

I wrote and asked them for more details but I'm not holding my breath.

Same here; not bothered if they’re worth 50 quid or 500, just interesting cause most clubs I’ve sold/owned I’ve always found similar, but these are the only 1s and the 1s on eBay

The image isn't great but these were listed on Ebay back when and were used by Lincs Golf to make their pitch.

First thing to note is these appear to be the same blade but they are 76 of a limited edition of 276, and unused. The original price was £5000, these were offered at £1200.

The Lincs Golf clubs are not in wrappers but do have an edition number 55. And it shows no clue as to who made them.

The screenshot shows the specs of the original for you to compare with yours.

Hi thanks for reply yea seen them as well, guessing at a stretch those are the collectors 1s so to speak and my set could a generic set more aimed at the public rather than collectors or big spenders

It seems likely. Do they have the same shafts? It appears you've got some very nice playable clubs.

 

I've just changed the post to show the serial number of Lincs Golf set; they came back to me with revised info. Still don't know who made them.

I think Seve was with Slazenger at the time. They do bear some resemblance to a set of Seve Blades.

Well I must say this is proving more interesting than I thought, yea seen he used, Slazenger and also Dunlop clubs, shafts that are on mine are not the same unfortunately, can’t remember the name of them, and yes I agree actually a decent set of looking clubs and being possibly 20 year old are in very decent condition

Found this set of heads only which, if genuine, seems to be a bargain price compared to the other sets.

Love to know who made them, I have a set of Slazenger Seve Blades from circa 1986 and they're similar but not an exact match.

Could be Sounder excess stock after they went bust following the flood. Timing would be right.

I was going to suggest Sounder although the profile of the anniversary set being debated is a little different to the Sounder SB VI model.

From what I understand, Seve had different sponsorship deals in different continents at the same time. Faldo famously played Mizuno irons out of a Wilson bag. I am not sure if Seve did something similar meaning the logo on his bag might not necessarily have matched its contents?
