Removing Titleist adapter from Ventus Black and putting on Ping G430 MAX 10K

I just bought a Ping G430 10K Max with a Ping Tour Black 2.0 65X shaft. Previously, I was using a TSi3 with a Ventus Black. Would swapping adapters potentially ruin the Ventus? Wanted to run this by you experts before I ruin a shaft.

Nah, you’ll be fine. Both tips are .335. Just take it to a reputable pro shop and they should be able to extract the sleeves cleanly and then swap them over for ya

I would much rather do it the other way around. First of all for a driver to play 45" in a Ping, the shaft will need to be longer. Secondly, the Titleist has a deeper insertion and a tall ferrule, once u remove the adapter from the Titleist, there will be quite a bit of presswork which the Ping short rubber ferrule will not cover.

You can easily fit the Ping Shaft into the Titleist driver but putting the Titleist shaft into the Ping driver will be upsetting if u are concerned about prep work showing or u need a certain length

You wont ruin the shaft (assuming that the person doing the pulling knows what they are doing) but there will likely be some tip prep exposed after installing the Ping adapter. It's purely aesthetic but can be "fixed" by tipping the shaft maybe 1/4" - which isn't enough to change the characteristics or performance of the shaft.

Any update on how this went for u? Just bought a ventus from the classified section and am afraid to mess it up

I ended up getting a new Ventus with a ping adapter. Didn't cannibalize the TSi3. Most people say it would have been fine but I didnt want to look down at a stripped ring on the shaft.

I feel the same way about looking down at tip prep when I go from an adapter like Titleist to an adapter such as a Ping. I ended up buying some taller collared .335 ferrules and just use one of those instead of the supplied ferrules when I’m using a Ping or TM adapter on a shaft that has a long area of tip prep.
