Flighted wedges help 40-100 yards

Recommended Posts

I’ve been through several different techniques trying to hit shallow low wedge shots but to no avail.

I’ve went from the Fredrick Lindblom draw pattern with early left shift to a more left path.

most shots are glancing off the face and going high and short.

any help would be much appreciated.

Your move looks fine to me. Guessing 8-10° of shaft lean and -4-5 aoa, so if that’s your 60° then around 55° spin loft, which is ideal.

Hitting out of rough conditions like that, with any amount of grass caught between clubface and ball, is gonna make it tough to get low launch and high spin. Also, if those are range balls, you’ll never get them to launch as low as premium urethane balls.

Your FO looked like a 40° launch and quite a bit of grass behind the ball. Your DTL looked much better, probably low 30s, so likely a cleaner strike.

I flight the ball by adjusting the length of my swing, also after impact, stay down on the ball, and keep the clubhead moving forward (not around to left), varying the length of that finish based on how far I am hitting the ball.  Might use less lofted iron to accomplish the same distance.

Your hands are too low and inside your shoulder line at address.  You don’t have near enough vertical hinge in the backswing.  Your pressure is too far right and never gets left enough.

All "tips" are welcome. Instruction not desired.

Thanks monte, do I feel more pressure left at address or get it moving in transition?
