Help ID Shaft Specs : DG TI J400?

Needing some help identifying the shafts in my current irons. I bought them demo’d from a legit local club pro 10 years ago (or however long ago they released). The shaft bands themselves don’t list any weight or stiffness. I pulled the grip on the one shaft I’m needing to replace (6 iron) to try to see the spec print but it’s barely legible and to me almost looks like J400? I can’t find anything about J400 online. From what I remember buying them I’ve always had in my mind that they were S400s, so the “400” I can read seems promising but wanted to see if anybody on the forums might be able to shed some light on the spec print. Any help is appreciated!

Under careful examination, the code reads DG-ISL - alleged J - 400..

Some research notes the L stands for "Long" but I do not know what the J would stand for or even if it is a J. It appears that it is possible it could have been a zero, but the negative image is inconclusive. Junior? LOL Somebody else surely has seen it before....

As it is, that appears to be an S400 DG Tour Issue shaft. The X100 flex would be denoted DG-IXL100. I am going to assume it is legitimately a TT Tour Issue shaft.

It's a 6 Iron shaft (38.5").

Thanks Mikey. Yeah I’ve racked my brain and research with the limited info I have and struck out so I figured last resort throw it up on here. Google literally only finds 1 hit for J400 and its the classifieds on this forum and just a simple 1 liner a guy was selling a shaft as S400 but it was “marked J400 but it’s the same as S400”.

Making sure I don’t have some golden J model S400s that are worth a million dollars before I dump it for a stock S400 😂

Yeah that’s my best at the moment as well. Still couldn’t find any info / specs through Google on Japan versions of DG or S400

Just buy a regular TI S400 shaft and be done with it. No need to overthink it. The shaft in your photo is one of the early versions without the S400 print on the silk screen label.

This is a quick shot of some DG x100 sensicore tapers from some mp33 yoro craft mizuno irons I bought from a seller in Japan years ago. My understanding of TT butt codes over the years here is that the j just designates a Japanese market shaft. This code translates to sensicore dynamic gold iron x 100 Japan length of uncut stock shaft. I think in some cases the L designation is for “long version” which had a 2 inch longer butt length for more build flexibility. For example, the early x100 sensicore had the shortest stock shaft at 35.0 with the 1 iron being 39.0 (remember that for DG the same 35.0 was used for the pw and 9). Later the pw/9 had a 37.0 length.

Thanks all, exactly why I love this forum!! Wasn’t overly concerned about getting a “100% identical spec” replacement but was just curious more than anything and like to get more educated when I can.
