Am I the only one that doesnt understand the format today?? Someone explain??

4 people in a group, 2 per team and each player plays his own ball.

 

Each person on the team plays what is basically a singles match against both guys from the other team.

 

So for example, Tiger and Charles are playing Goosen and Rose.

Tiger has a match against Goosen and another against Rose.

Charles also has a match against Goosen and against Rose.

and the same goes for Goosen and Rose.

 

I think that's how it goes.

This is correct. It makes the the tournament quite a bit shorter by having twice as many matches going at the same time.

 

Now, I have a dumb question.

 

Who chooses the players? If I heard correctly Tiger is a member of Isleworth, and Els is a member of Lake Nona, but I have never heard if the other players are members or if they are invited to play by the respective Clubs.

 

Anyone got any idea?

They are all members of the clubs that they represent. There was a rumor a while ago that Grayhawk in Arizona wanted in as their members include Phil Mikelson and Geoff Ogilvy (I think).

Yeah, but they don't have a freakin thing to do with Tavistock. Greyhawk and Whisper Rock can go start their own tournament, that most likely won't get picked up by the Golf Channel.

And what do Isleworth and Lake Nona have to do with Tavistock? I am not trying to be a wisea-- here? I just thought it was a cool idea that eventually found a sponsor and then they ran with it. I also think that if Grayhawk and Whisper Rock copied the idea, it would be on The Golf Channel and ues, I would watch it.

They do, as well as Slavia Prague, another football club, as well as a number of restuarants, manufacturers (including Vans shoes, Puma and Bristol Cars), and a number of private residential and resort properties, including Lake Nona, Isleworth, Harmony Cove, etc.
