Changed swing, better contact... now need new clubs?

I have been practicing 'Fixers 9-3 drill for a few weeks now. My contact has greatly improved. I'd say on average about 8 or 9 out of 10 swings find the sweet spot on full swings. Good compression, etc. Problem is, I'm now pulling (sometimes pull/hook) my hybrids and my driver.

I had been playing SGI irons, just switched to an old set of Eye2's... love 'em. But, my hybrids are still "The Perfect Club" 3h, 4h and 5h... and my driver is still an older Cobra F-Speed. These are offset, closed face, the works!

Should I look into a more "players" type set-up? I'm getting fit for a new driver on Sat. and will see if the L4V X will help at all... but I'm at a loss for hybrids...

When I had the problems with pulling or hooking, I would make an adjustment to a neutral grip and I tried to manipulate the hands less.

Clubs could always have an effect, but I would check your set up first. It is possible that you may be hanging back with the long clubs and coming around them, due to the more forward ball position. The other thing you have to pay attention to is the more you move teh ball forward, the more you have to adjust your grip to a weaker position.

 

Offset clubs really dont hook shots, they are designed to increase launch.

Thanks for the tips guys. My grip does tend to get a bit strong when I don't pay attention to it. I'll take note of that the next time I'm at the range, and try a weaker grip with my longer clubs. It was just weird to me that I never played a draw/hook/pull in my life. Always a slight fade. Now that I'm compressing the ball better, making better contact, hitting my irons dead straight... my longer clubs suffer. I thought it must be due to the clubs because my irons are brand new and not as GI as my hybrids/driver.
