Canyon Creek CC, Richardson(DFW)

My buddies and I are looking for an affordable Country Club to join with our families. I was wondering if we had any members that belonged. And their opinions on the club, the course, the games.

i was a member at TPC craigranch before i moved out to phoenix, Canyon Creek is okay but the course is pretty easy and the people are old, look into stonebridge in mckinney, hurricane creek, or gentle creek in prosper, all will be close to you and all are good tracks and not to bad in price

Were do you live in DFW? I am a little biased because my wife works for Club Corp---so I have played most of there courses

 

Canyon Creek-as the poster said- its pretty easy--I have played out there a couple of times and its pretty gymicy(sp) as well----I personally don't like it and think there are better courses. I played out there two weeks ago with a local--- had an awful swing and was able to hack it around for a pretty low score. they just re-did the greens so they are still pretty hard-- and there's a lotof bump and runs

 

I would recommend looking into Brookhaven-- they are currently redoing some of the course- but to join its one of the best deals in dallas- also really child friendly. Not sure how old your children are but they have 3 courses out there. Master's- hardest/ Champoins/ the players I think---- so if your children play golf as well-its nice for them to play a course that fits there level. they are also opening/ and renovated the swimming area for the summer. But this one is probably the msot kid friendly--but again they are rennovating--but they are not touching the master's so you can still play it

 

As the poster stated above- if you live out that way--stonebridge in mckinney- is great. I am not sure how the clubs policies work but they actually have 2 club houses and 2 different golf courses- about 5 miles a part. I am not sure if you join one you get both or what. But the Hills course- is 27 holes--- its good golf course- and they have a swimming pool as well-bent grass greens- and a fair test of golf. The other Pete Dye course-I am not sure if it has a pool or not---have not notice one----I think its mainly a golf club----but its a great/ really tought test of golf--I think its a slope of 147--be prepared you will loose balls out here. They keep the rough at about 6 inches or so. But it has a Dallas Stars club house them---as well and the food is really good. The club house looks great but its of the smaller variety-- so I am not sure how many special events they have
