Course GPS on Blackberrys?

Anyone know of any good applications for golf course gps on blackberrys. Price is not an issue on this just looking for something cool to try.

I used Intelligolf on a Palm, but the software works on a BB. You just have to pair it with a BT GPS receiver. Check out their website, great program to have.

I tried downloading the trial and it did not work...Is it well worth the $$? How accurate did you find it?

The only good one a see is the Intelligolf. Is this the one you are talking about? It will not allow me to download the trial to my Curve 8830(Verizon)

Tried GreenFinder or GreenFinders.com yesterday at the Ocean Course . They have a 5 course trial and it works with BB's with GPS . Definatly worth trying .

I just used Greenfinder on my BB. It works great and is within 2 yards of the monuments on my home course. I think it is definitely worth the $35 annual fee, especially since most other handhelds charge that much just for a subscription to their services.

 

Anyone try this? Opinions?

I had been using a relatively simple and inexpensive device - IGolf Neo. This one worked well for the money and the limitations, 10 course max on device, had to transfer to/from computer, etc.... UNTIL I BOUGHT MY BLACKBERRY STORM and demo'd this product.

 

Greenfinder is awesome. Tried it out over the weekend on 2 rounds and it worked GREAT. I love the fact that you use your existing blackberry device (NOTE--- verizon users, it only works on the storm, didn't work on my old curve as our friends at Verizon want to rape you on outside apps that access the GPS)....

 

I used it side by side in both rounds on familiar courses with my IGolf NEO. Also had my dad's skycaddie with us and tested against that. Additionally, a playing partner had his laser for reference. In ALL instances, the distances were right on compared to the other devices. Screen is very easy to read an use. As any Storm user probably knows, tapping the "fairway" option get's a little touchey so you can see the intermediate hazards and yardages, but nothing unusual to any other app on this phone.

 

Overall, this product is Awesome. Went this morning and purchased it for good. At $35 per year, the price is just fine. It has unlimited downloads and it automatically suggests which course to use based on where you are standing when you fire it up. You also can map the course if you happen to be at that one particular course around that isn't already mapped. Living in Los Angeles, and playing in California, Arizona and Nevada, their all in there already. Including many private country clubs. Compared to the product I purchased a few months ago, it would take me over 5 years to get to the same price and I would have to continually download courses and move back and forth to make room. So this is by far and away the best product for those that own the iphone and blackberry's within the category.

 

Only bad thing --- this is blackberry storm problem anyway, you probably won't get 36 holes without a recharge although it just might make it. This like everything else on the phone sucks the battery. Although, I definitely had more than enough to make it through one round including checking e-mails and a couple of quick phone calls. So just know if your going to have a golf orgy with multiple rounds in a day, bring your phone charger for between rounds for a quick boost.

 

Definitely a recommended purchase... awesome product.

Greenfindergps.com...it's the way to go! $35/year and works on almost any blackberry, iphone or window mobile device.

 

I use it on my Verizon Wireless Blackberry Storm. I randomly verify with yardage markers on the course and it's always within 1-2 yards...which is plenty accurate for ANYONE who is not getting paid to play the game.

 

I'd recommend checking out the 5 round trial.

 

The best part is that you can download the course while standing on the 1st Tee! No syncing with your PC and managing courses.

 

One of the courses I play was not on their course list, so I requested it to be mapped and it was done in just a couple weeks.
