Grum's bag.

Recommended Posts

The V1 with the fubuki flights a good bit higher than the v2/6z08, but the lack of spin is great, it just goes. The V2/6z08 doesn't spin a whole lot either, but it is easier to turn over. Distance wise there's not alot between them, you just have to decide how you want to get the ball out there, or what'd suit the conditions/course that day. Eg links on a windy day, I'd take the 6z08 any day. Parkland, no wind, and lots of things to carry? fubuki every day of the week.

Agreed.

1/2" blind boring the bore through Titleist drivers is something I always do with my own clubs. A lot easier to get the desired flex and the shaft to play properly.

My Titleist back-up driver is a belter. A 905S with a pullout Grafalloy Blue in it. Cracking driver and, as Grum so eruditely puts it, it cost bugger all. :D

1 1/2"?

That's a standard bore Grum. At least it used to be before the clubheads reached watermelon-like size. :D

In truth, I've done them at 1" in the past too, but 1/2" is what's in my 905S. Aside from the performance advantages it's less hassle than poncing about with through-boring it when you put it together.

The aluminium sleeves on the later models are the work of the devil. Along with the bore through remake of the PT fairway woods and their impossible to get hold of .295 tip Dynamic Golds, someone at Titleist clearly has a deep seated hatred for anyone who does club work...

I'm intrigued that you've built them at 1/2", thats pretty shallow. I imagine you'd need some tipping to get them to play to flex. And with that crappy aluminium hosel, all the stress is now on it, it has no support from the body of the clubhead, like it does if you go past 1". You're at risk of the hosel failing(they really are as soft as shite), as some poor soul had happen with his ~$1k 907D4 recently(a quick search will find that one, ouch!)

Must be a Yorkshire thing.

I always had it drilled into me that a blind bore was always to be 1/2" up from the deck when shafting up a wood.

Very true mate.

But my 'mentor' had it that a 'standard' blind bore (if that makes sense) is to be 1/2". 'And if they want 'owt else they 'ave to ask fer it.'

Not sure actually, can order things with almost any shaft though, they have said yes to everything ive enquired about so far... I did order a set with 3-PW all irons, PX 6.5 (non flighted), GP tour velvet round... Waited 7 weeks due to some complications but got them through weeks after they should have been, 3 & 4 hybrid regular flex :russian_roulette: DD2 grips, PX 5.5 Flighted, tour velvet ribbed.... :black eye:

I checked my order so someone must not have been concentrating :drag:

Tour guy i work with ordered his and was spot on and with him in a week... Hmmm, where did i leave my tour card?

Yea i enquired about a Progold hybrid the other day... If you dont have any money then you need to PUT THE BRAKES ON! :cheesy:

Im playing tomorrow but ill make a call at some point and see if theyll hook me up some head only stuff... The new Pugullli or however you spell it look sweet at adress, really square toe and they sit nice to the ground, similar sole camber to the irons... Shame they are ruined by the stupid yellow spaceship on the back... shame because they really do look nice at adress....

And i know what you mean, theres only a few select people i will let touch my clubs now lol, and im one of them lol.

Anything you need let me know... maybe work out some kind of Diamana/Accra - Adams deal lol
