Shaft recommendation for Tour Burner

Similar to Grafalloy Blue

I am looking to replace my Titleist 905 T (9.5*), which has a stiff Blue shaft, with a TM Tour Burner. I am trying to determine which shaft will work best for me. I like my current set up for feel and accuracy, but my ball flight can get too high at times. I also get very little roll. Thus, the needed switch. I carry the ball about 275 on average with a 105 to 110 swing speed. I am a high ball hitter with a lot of spin. Misses tend to be pulls.

Bottomline, I like the Blue shaft. I have a moderate/fast tempo, and I load the shaft pretty good at the top. I DO NOT like shafts that feel whippy or snap upon release. I really like the feel of the Blue.

I am looking to get a Tour Burner (8.5*), but I can't decide on a shaft. Stock REAX? Whiteboard? Etc? Unfortunately, I live in area where a demo is not an option. Suggestions would be appreciated. I want a low spin combo to get a more penetrating flight with more roll. I know decreasing the loft will help some with this problem, but I am stuck on the shaft issue.

The graffaloy blue was infamous for playing stiffer than the stated flex and very few people i knew could load the stiff flex without over swinging.

 

I hit some of my best drives equal to or better than the expensive set ups ive played in the past year..

 

Your likely going to be able to play the stock whiteboard or rombax in X stiff without a problem.

 

The whiteboard might feel like its even easier to load and feel smoother for you in X flex, but should spin a whole lot less than the graff blue.

 

Expensive option: Ozik 8m2 in stiff

Cheap options: Aldila Protopype

I think you'll like the TBTP 8.5* with the stock Diamana 65x. Your flight will be higher but your spin will be lower which should get your more carry and plenty of roll. The old blue shafts were in the 60 grams range so the Rombax 75 may feel a bit too heavy for you.

I am playing in a local tournament with my father-in-law in FL next weekend. I am considering going to the local Edwin Watts beforehand and hit the launch monitor, since there isn't a quality one in my area. I also hit a G10 yesterday that I really liked, and just what I need - something else to consider...

I have just switched from an r7 TP 7.5 with an X-flex Graphalloy Blue to an r7 425 TP 7.5 with an Aldila VS Proto 80X. Only had one visit to the range so far and a couple of rounds but WOW, launch seems similar if not slightly lower but certainly seems to have less spin and rolls out more. Biggest difference for me is the dispertion is much tighter, I have not hit anything way left yet and even a big miss hit off the toe just went 20-25 yards right of the target instead of the block or snap hook I have finnished up with in the past.

My swing speed is 112mph, hit the ball very high and have had trouble with too much spin with the driver, not saying this is perfect for me but it is the best I have used for the price and more than hapy with it.
