Driver Fit - don't assume let the fitter advise atleast

Hi Everyone,

just been fitted for a new driver.

As a high ball/ high clubhead speed player I always assumed I needed a low launch driver shaft that was mega stiff.

I have been fitted with a UST Proforce V2 HL 76g Extra stiff, the ball carries 25 yards longer than the speeder 757 with the same head.

My stats

Launch 15.1 degrees
spin 2900 (I'm baffled why it;s so low with this shaft)
clubhead speed 119.7
carry 309yards
total distance 329 yards


the v2 HL sends the ball on an initial high launch but then bores, it doesn't ballon

My spin numbers were 3700 with the grafalloy prolaunch red, but 2900 with the speeder 757 same as the PF V2 High Launch, but the v2 HL carried further
I traded-in a Tour Burner TP and got a very good price, spin was 4100rpm (with the matrix XCON-5 x-stiff) ,eek !



Just shows the $40 for a LM is worth it, even if you don't buy a club a good check as your swing can change and you want to maximise your performance.

I've got the Hyper-x Tour 8.5 head, was impressed with the Ping G10 (best ping driver head ever, doesn't ballon - well done ping). But the alignment, head feel and swing feel was super.

Curiouos where you had the fitting done for $40? Around here, that would get you a fitting at Golf Galaxy with a salesperson that knows less than I do. Top club fitters are $75, refundable if you buy a club.

 

Happy to hear you found something that works for you. Oh to have a 120mph swing speed. :russian_roulette: I don't think I could hit it 329 on a parking lot.

Going to go have a hit with a g10 with that shaft next week just out of curiosity.
