MOVING THE WEIGHTS

I just got a super quad 1st edition all black driver, I got all the accessories but the wheel for tuning it if you will.Taylormade is sending me the wheel but Im playing this friday. I spoke to taylor the guy told me its d4 s/weight which is perfect , I love d4 or even d5,now thats with the weights that come installed 2 12 gram and 2 1 gram so thats 26 grams of weight now heres my question which guy didnt really answer,if I start moving them around and use lighter or heavier weights, if I want to stay around d4 or d5 they must total 26 grams IS THIS CORRECT and please give me your suggestions for a starting point Id like to hit a low to med high draw to start, to get comfortable with driver than experiment thanks SEANNA :russian_roulette: :russian_roulette: :russian_roulette:

I have the original quad but I have come across the online configurators on the TM site that may help you. For both links you will have to click the Weight Configuratior button at the right side of the page.

 

For your superquad, this link will give you the default flights offered with the standard 14g and 1g weights:

There is a much better configuration link, although it is for the r7 425 it allows you to choose any flight & swingweight. It may not be exact but this is by far the best i've found to help me decide what to try with my r7.

You are correct about keeping the total weight the same if you want it to be the same swing weight as it is. Each change of 2 grams at the head will change the SW by one point. ie. If you go from 26g to 24g it should change from a D4 to D3. Not exactly but close.

 

For a low draw you want most of the weight in the spot closest to the heel and the least amount toward the back of the club head. Starting from the heel it should be 12-12-1-1. Moving them to 12-1-1-12 should give you the lowest flight but will be nuetral. I've never been able to figure out how to get a low draw without changing the total amount of weight though. Mine is set up with 12-4-4-4 to get the swing weight and draw that I want. I guess you could buy some extra weights and do 16-1-1-8 to get a low draw but I have not tried it. Now I'm confused!
