They also said my friend's truck was parked too close to there car. I took pictures of the hood and the parking spots also in case the police where called. If i can get the pics off of my phone ill upload them.

 

The mans wife wrote the stuff on the hood.

Is it possible that someone else on the course did something to them and they thought it was the two of you? Otherwise, it makes no sense.

 

Did you ask them what they were talking about (maybe before the slap)? And who did the slapping?

 

Slapping was done by the members wife.

 

And im pretty sure they were sure it was us. There were older gentleman behind us, as we were talking to them each time we tee'd off near the last 4 holes.

It really doesn't matter. She was not defending herself at the time of the incident, unless a physical threat had been made by the "slapee". Consequently, the complaint would be assault and battery -- assault for the words used, battery for the actual slap.

 

The law is there to protect you from such people, no matter how much money or influence that "member" or his wife might have. And if you don't stand up -- legally -- you've proven you'll stand for anything.

Ok sorry lol. I have been skimming the posts here for a little while. Busy at work. The husbands wife wrote on the truck. Trying to get pics up as soon as i can. The husband is the one who slapped my friend. i wasnt thinking while typing. Words were also exchanged by them as to who was more childish but my friend just responded by leaving and writing a note to management. My friend is only about 5'8" and the husband was handy on 6'2"-6"3. He was pretty much trying to intimidate him by looking down on him.

 

Sorry for the confusion. The club superintentant also wrote my friend a letter. I think he may still have it, and if so ill post it. Basicly he apologized for the way the members acted and it should not be held against the club.

If the course superintendant actual wrote that the behavior of club members shouldn't be held against the club and the club failed to take action against the offending members then the club superintendant is an idiot! It is the club (as represented by management and the board of directors) job to police it's membership and ensure that an enjoyable experience is had by all members and guests-that means sanctioning members who misbehave-there's also the legal liability issue to consider as well if the club appears to be tacitly condoning assault, battery and vandalism.

He slapped him? What kind of a panty-waist club do you play at? I don't care how big he was, a good knee to the crotch or kick in the knee would have crumbled him. Besides, it's self-defense at that point and I would DEFINITELY have gotten the police involved.

Man, that story is unbelievable. Sounds like these members have a reputation. Management are being wimps. Someone slaps me and they're in for a knuckle sandwich and a swift kick in the nads! Your friend showed incredible restraint.

Wow, learning that the person who slapped your friend was a man completely changes this story IMO. I wouldn't have taken it to a violent level in retaliation, but I would have involved all authorities, and would have escalated the matter with the superintendent of the club. At the very least, this man should have his playing privalages suspended for a minimum of 30 days, and he should be required to pay some sort of charitable fine. Not only did he physically attack an individual following a round, but he attacked a VISITOR...inexcusible.

 

This is not the type of situation that should be swept under the rug.

Is this a military course or a country club?

 

If it's a military course the best path for a junior person to do is walk away, and if you want to press it, take it to the IG or chain of command. But your stuff has to be airtight first. (former GI here)
