Please Help!! Is it just me or my equipment????

Ok, I have a Cobra LDF 10.5 with the Stock stiff flex shaft and a titleist 904F 5 wood with a steel shaft. I hit the 5 wood 190 yds consistantly. I have been making good contact with my driver and when the ball is in flight it looks like it is going to fly a mile, but then it just falls out of the sky at about 190 to 200 yds with very little roll. Even on the course when I tee off my buddies are always like "dang thats a good drive" then it falls out of the ski and they say "I thought it was going a lot farther that that". Is there anything I can do in order to get more distance out of my driver.

you should get on a launch monitor then get fitted for a shaft. you could be getting to much spin? i don't really know that much.

this sounds like something a shaft would tune out for you. you need to get fit, but make sure that you do it outside, inside vectors don't work and are way off.

It almost sounds to me like you aren't playing enough loft for your clubhead speed, as being part of the problem.... Possibly.

Like many posters, you have already answered your question?

If you are hitting basically the same distance with two very different lofts, it is not a swing issue. Ideally you need to find someone who can assess you and your equipment in a serious manner, and then choose the optimal driver head, loft, shaft, weight, flex, etc.

Or guess?

You might want to check your swing and make sure you're not hitting it on the downswing. That's usually my problem.

how high do you tee it up? where is the ball in your stance? teeing the ball higher can help you reduce spin and improve launch angle.

that said, if you hit a steel-shafted 5-wood 190 yds., unless you have a very quick swing tempo, i'd say that it's very likely that the shaft in your driver is too stiff, which can definitely rob you of distance.
