Graffaloy Pro Launch Blue vs UST V2 High Launch

How do these two shafts compare?

Title says it all.
I am looking for a shaft that will help me with a higher launch angle. Tried both, but in different heads (G10, MX-560). I am undecided. Pro Launch Blue seems to be a little smoother, but this might also have been because of the different head.
There are very few options to try different head/shaft combos where I live.
Also, a few dozen shots on the range never tell the story. Does anybody have more experiences with both shafts and could share them please?

I found the V2HL launched it only marginally higher than the std V2

the PLblue launched considerably higher than the V2HL and played a touch stiffer

both in a Ping G2 head

I had a UST V2 HL put in my TM 460TP. I didn't like the feel at all. I've used the Graphite Design blue shaft (It was stolen out of my car a week ago, installed in a Titliest 905 9.5 degree head so I can't remember exactly what it is called) with good success. I'm now back to the original Fujikara in the 460. I'm going to put an AJ Tech Z44 in the 460 next and if that doesn't work I'm just going to buy a G10 and be done with it.

V2 all the way.

 

Just the right amount of flex and kick for forgiveness yet powerful enough that you can make a good move on it if you want.

 

I found the Blue to be strangely un-wieldy, if you know what I mean.

I play a V2 HL (75g) in my 3wd and a prolaunch blue HY in my hybrid. They are both excellent shafts and you really can't go wrong with either of them.

 

They do feel quite a bit different, personally I like the v2 a little more.. but I don't really have a reason to at all. They both give me a pretty good ball flight, they both feel pretty good.

 

For some reason I just seem to like the v2 a little better, and have thought about sticking a v2 in my driver vs the graffaloy prolaunch platinum. I would maybe look around a little and see which one is closer to the shafts that you are currently playing in your other clubs, if you like them I would go with the closer shaft, if you would like something different then I would go with the other choice.

 

You said you thought the prolaunch blue felt a little smoother to you, then I would probably be leaning towards that one.

One thing I forgot to add:

The Pro Launch Blue I tried was the 55g version, whereas the V2 HL was the 65g version. Maybe that negated the fact that the Pro Launch Blue plays stiffer to flex. Numbers say (especially the DSFI numbers in the Dynacraft/Hireko fitting guide) that the V2 should fit me better. I guess that's the wy I should go.

My brother has a Cleveland Launcher (the version just before the DST was released) with a fit-on-gold which is does not like and is getting rid if it. I really like the Launcher but when I tried the current set up in the club it was not the winner for me either. I'm considering getting the club and having the shaft replaced to be used as a backup club. I'm really like the Grafalloy shafts I have had in the past but have heard good things about the V2HL as well. I'm debating between the Pro Launch Blue and the V2HL for this Launcher I'm considering picking up.

Currently I have a 95-100 swing speed with a natural Draw. I want something that will give me a mid to high launch and will give some extra roll upon landing.

Right now the Pro Launch Blue is tops on my wish list, cause I've enjoyed other clubs I tried that had Grafalloy shafts but want to consider other options. Any other feedback on the two shafts would be appreciated.

FYI:
More than two years have passed since my original post. I had bad experiences on the course with high launch shafts (both models originally mentioned in this thread), although the LM numbers were good.
I have since become a firm believer in "more loft, low to mid launch shaft".
