Will the L5V be compatible with Titleist shafts??

I've heard that the L5V from Cobra will be offered with club adjustability, just like the 909 series. Given that both products come under the Acushnet umbrella, do you think the adapter fitting on the L5V and 909 heads will be the same?

 

Titleist is going to push fitting in a big way with the 909, but wouldn't it be interesting to try the Cobra heads with all the shafts that are intended for the 909 'selectfit' system?

 

Would it be a good move, or would Acushnet be wary of cannibalising it's own products, by having two distinct brands with the same fittings, adapters etc??

I heard that the shaft on the L5V was NOT interchangeable per my rep on Wednesday. Now, he just them about 2 weeks prior to this and he did agree that the face angle was the only part adjustable on the club. What you do is loosen the shaft slightly, and rotate the club 180 degrees either right or left (depending on whether you want open or shut) and then tighten 'er back up to set that face angle.

I find that slightly disappointing to be honest. One thing that's obvious from the L4V threads is that it required a re-shaft to really get the best out of the clubhead.

 

Let's hope the stock shaft in the L5V is decent, although I think that Acushnet will soon have to realize that Cobra isn't a mid/high handicap brand anymore. If you have a strong presence on tour, then sooner rather than later, single figure players will want Cobra drivers in the bag - and that means offering better fitting options.
