The Bridges @ Preston Crossing,Texas

Played Fred Couples new design in Gunter, TX (just north of Dallas subarbs). The Bridges is really different. Open from the looks of it but 4" second cut will have most guys lookin' for balls all day. The Holes are all very different. The greens are huge and look to have some former grazer's burried beneth them. The wind will probably affect this course because there are not many trees. It's defense is the wind and rough, with a few nicely placed fairway bunkers along the way. The yardage should scare most people off, other then the distance from the city. 7600 from the backs and 7200 from the blues, a very odd members tee on the card that is a mix of white and blue tees. I would suggest playing from there, only 6700. Not open 7 days a week yet but if they ever start selling houses it should pick up. Best hole is number 6, drivable par four 289, can't miss the fairway and trouble is all around the green but most the green itself with some huge mounds protecting the front. Worst hole is certainly 18 with a very suspect layup on the second shot that want allow you any closer than 150yds to the green :clapping: . I give it a big thumbs up.

I haven't played it yet, but a lot of people who come into my golf store say it is way too long of a track. Fred designed another course in Houston called Royal Oaks. After playing it I thought, what the hell was he thinking? I am hoping its not as goofy! I would like to get up there and play his course. Thanks for the info!
