love the clubs. but why no nike shoes or bag. how do you like the new vr wedges, thinking of getting some.

Well...I've had nike shoes in the past, but I've honestly found that PUMA makes the most comfortable, durable, stylish, and light golf shoes on the market. I've had the whites for 2 seasons and the blacks for 1...and both are in great condition. Odyssey always has had a fond place in my heart because my first gifted golf club was an Odyssey Dual Rossie II putter, got it from my grandpa who introduced me to the game. Plus, I havn't met one other golfer gaming that stand bag. plus, Phil games it too...

 

The wedges are outstanding...I'm coming from using the Nike SV's and the VR's are without a doubt heads above!!! Grips are crap though, so I'm gonna put some whit Iomics on those bad boys!!!

Those Puma headcovers are sick! I'm a big fan of anything with white (shoes, grips, bag) I see you have the white Iomic grips as well. Have you put them on yet and what is the closest grip that they compare to (Lamkin crossline, Golf Pride MCC, etc.)?

getsweea6- white is definitley classy and with Iomic its a breeze to clean I've had the white putter grip for a year and its still sparkly white...i'm gonna throw the white iomics on my vr wedges, so I havent yet. But out of the package they feel close to a regular golfpride velvet with extra tacky-ness, for my irons I just got some red lamkin crossline cords.

 

SpinMill- I got those headcovers from Lastagolf.com, its a great website. They are located in japan and have an awesome collection of Puma gear, check them out you will not be dissapointed. Their customer service is great!

Luke - I Just finished re-gripping everything last night and I be glad to post some pics of the Iomics on the VR's. As soon as I get home from work I'll snap a few pics...and I must say I think they look as classy as ray glassy! Also, the red Lamkin Cords look devilish on my PC's.

 

carog - The VR's are straight performers, you will not be dissapointed with a set of these bad boys!

personally one of my favs, how do you like the pro-combos? I'm considering them or something very similiar as my next irons once I get my swing back together. I stopped playing for almost 6 yrs and sold most of my clubs, so my bag now is a definite re-build, but I've always like nike everything, I've probably actually applied for a dozen jobs there, but I quess they don't like the background in biology.

The PC's are a great set of irons, and what makes them ever better right now is that they can be had for little dinero. I can't rave enough about my sticks, the whole concept of a combo set is brilliant and Nike hit the mark when they put together this set. Forgivness in the long irons, workabiltiy 8 - P, and they hit like butter...You will not be dissapointed if you decide to go with this bundle of stixs. Nike makes good equipment and I play them because of that fact and none other...(I'm really not even a Tiger Fan).

pdaero - Post that WITB thread son (cool) snap a few picks / upload them to photobucket / and voala!!! The Voodoo is as smooth as silk!!! Caters to a nice tempo'd swing and is very stable. If you can pick one up I would highly recommend this shaft!!!

Good Question Show...I N E V E R use it. I got it at Golfsmith for (drumroll please).... $44.95!!! It is an interesting story but the long and short of it is...I saw this bag on Golfsmith for 115.00 bones shipped. So, I jumped...I like odyssey and the thought of having a staff bag was enticing. I got the bag in about 4 days opened her up and BAM a sales tag clipped to the strap that read 44.95. So, I gave customer service a buzz and they refunded me the difference...not too shabby if I do say so myself. But I'm sad to say its main purpose is storage...

 

I could see myself walking down the 18th with my caddy by my side for us open qualifying. Had every intention of using this bad boy, but when I got there (first attempt to qualify) there were only about 3 guys rocking the staff bag and they looked like tool bags...so I used my stand bag instead (plus my caddy bailed on me after a rain delay) oh well there is always next year...
