updated 3.9.09. new putter and wedges!

Updated 3/9/09. I added my first tour issue clubs to my bag. Two tour issue z-groove wedges. The 54 is bent to 53 and the 56 has been bent to 58. I haven't even hit them yet as I just decided to keep them. So I'm looking forward to the weather getting better so I can test them out on grass. I also switched out my old scotty cameron studio stainless for a new ping redwood. i love the redwood and have been draining long putts like its my job! (well technically it is part of my job) Let me know what you guys think! I put white/black new decades on my wedges because I think I get a better feel out of them then the tear-your-hands-up crossline cords that are on all my other clubs! The only thing I will be adding will be a new hybrid in the 18-20* range. I am thinking about waiting to get with my local tm rep and try one of the new TP hybrids for this year. If anyone has hit them let me know what you think of them! Otherwise I'll probably be looking for a tour issue adams. It's always a work in process!

Thanks! I picked up the irons on a whim and was going to sell them but after hitting them some more I decided to keep them. You cannot believe the condition they are in. The previous owner was a club collector and bought them and never really played them. I've tried various other fairway woods (burner tp, newer adams models, etc) and I've come to realize that NOTHING will take the Sonartec out of the bag.

The ping hybrid is awesome. I had originally had a rescue tp at 21* and wanted to go to something a little lower lofted. I got the ping and never looked back. It's forgiving and really launches the ball of the face. The V2 shaft is really smooth as well. I would definitely recommend it.

everything looks great accept that your clubs are upside down in the bag....woods on top wedges on bottom. Saves the shafts from getting beat up by your irons and makes it easier on your caddy to pull clubs on the fly ;) . Welcome to the ho section.

haha you may think you outsmarted me on that one, but i actually had just got done cleaning them and thought putting them in that way would show them better in the pictures! but yes, i am a true club ho newbie so any advice would be helpful. ive also just gotten a new job so hopefully that will mean new sticks in the near future, which i will of course post on here!

Is there a story behind the Cleveland headcover on the Ping hybrid?

Really the only story is that I found it one day at the club I used to work at and it was never claimed and let's be serious, the ping headcovers aren't the most pleasing thing to look at. After no one claimed it I put it on and its been on ever since. It really just stays on better then the ping one! haha

What is your distance gap between the hybrid and the four wood. I was thinking about picking up a g10 18* because I just sold my idea pro...

To be honest it's hard to say because I use them both for such different things. For this reason I have actually started looking for the same sonartec head just in a lower loft. I would probably say I only have about 15-20 yards difference between the two. The ping is really nice off the tee on long par 3's and it is really nice if youre playing out of trees or any kind of trouble. I actually looked at getting an idea pro when I was looking for a new hybrid, but after hitting it and hitting the g10 there was no question for me. Sorry for the kind of half-answer. I just use them for different things and have honestly never compared the two that much.
