What age do you consider a senior?

So im 47 but need new knees new back new neck and shoulders i have an 80 year old body. And play the senior's day at my home course in GoldField iowa. Is it the age are how beet up you are lol ? I posted on the how old you are. Just dont want to make anyone mad!

Seems to me that there are really several answers to this compelling question. My rules of thumb are the following:

 

1. Age at which I should qualify for a "senior" discount = my current age - one day

 

2. Age at which my golf partners should give me strokes for being a "senior" = my current age

 

3. Age at which I expect everyone else to defer to my judgment because I am a "senior" = my current age - 5 years

 

4. Age at which I think I am a "senior" deep down in my soul = my current age + one day

 

5. Age at which I will use forward tees, hit clubs with senior flex, have to ride in a golf cart because of my age, and/or wear an outfit consisting of plaid shorts and thigh-high black socks = my current age + never (I hope)

 

 

I like your "rules of thumb", lol. Couldn't agree more with the plaid shorts and thigh-high black socks--well I mite when hell freezes over.

Earliest 55.............. perhaps 60 but no older.

Most courses that I've played you have to be 60 to get the senior rate.

What age is considered a senior, you asked? For me.... this very second. I have been a member of this forum for a few months. It wasn't until today that I visited this "senior golf talk" section of the forum. I have spent more time here then anywhere else on the forum, because of all the good info I'm getting. This tells me that I have now arrived.
I am officially a senior (age 54).

60 and over gets the senior rate @ my golf course. On a side note......I have senior ladies that i know are on their late 60's who when I ask politely when checking in if they are seniors i get stare that would cut thru steel

For golf, 50+....the usga has decided what senior golf is!

To me, with respect to golf, you are starting to become a senior when you have to pull back a full flex level in drivers and irons in order to maintain optimum distance. When you have to pull back two flex levels from what you have played all your life to that point, you have arrived ... you are a senior golfer. I have so far pulled back from X to S or S/X. I figure when I hit R I will officially be a senior golfer. The USGA age limits are purely arbitrary. Father time is the real decider.

I put up my fav iButt Apple logo pic, but, they run a honorable site here.

No biggie. It's fine with me. This one is simple and clean looking.

When you get to 70 there's no choice in the matter, your a senior.

Actually better for me. From the tips, I am not reaching the trouble. It is more of test, I get a chance to hit longer clubs from the fairway. I hope from the fairway. Distance is not the problem. Consistency and staying sharp with my short game, now that's the problem to overcome.
