BEST SHOTS EVER!

I had a fried egg today, about as bad as it gets. Sky high PW, I saw the explosion of sand from 128 out and I'm thinkin that it must have went straight through the sand and is now totally gone. I get up there and its the worst lie I've ever been faced with. The ball is in its own depression, maybe the top 1/8" of the ball is above the sand. We just got a bunch of rain so the sand is heavy and hard to move. To make matters worse its a downhill lie and I've short sided myself. I have about 4 paces of green to work with, theres a lot more bunker then there is green between me and the pin. So I took the 54* out of the bag and stood over the beast. My best bet I figure is to land it somewhere between the rough and the pin, knowing its going to release into the green (even though it slopes back at me) I know that I have to dig it out, so I deloft the wedge and take a few half practice like swings over the ball. I took a full swing straight down behind the ball and forced the club through with all my strength. The ball squirted out, cleared the lip, landed on the fringe and rolled by the hole. Sure it released to the back of the green, sure I left myself a suicide putt, nobody in my group could have done it a ton better. I was just really stoked at the fact that I turned the worst lie of the day into the shot of the day, having never played the shot before.

For those of you with short attention spans:

I dug one out of a downhill, fried egg lie onto the green and had a great time doing it. I didnt save anything, I just hit a great trouble shot that I think was about a 1/50 deal.

I was playing at my home course. On the eighteenth hole, a dogleg downhill 550 yd par 5 I hit my tee shot ob. On my proivisional I crushed my drive over the trees to about 230 from the green. I had a downhill ball below my feet lie and I pured a high cut 3 hybrid, it landed two feet from the hole and I tapped in for my par, I have made a few eagles before but this was more exciting.
