Need cheap golf

I'm currently a medical student stuck in the Gurnee/Vernon Hills area of northern Illinois. Being a student, I don't have a lot of money, so I am looking for cheap courses in the area. By cheap, preferably under $25 walking, under $30 riding on weekdays. I don't mind if they are twilight fees either. All I have found so far is Bittersweet in Gurnee and Brae Loch in Grayslake.

Shepherd's Crook up in Zion, on Greenbay Road. $25 twilight walking. Terrific course built on part of an old land fill. The current landfill is still operating next to it, which is one of the reasons the price stays down. Great conditions, on the same level as Thunderhawk. Puts both Bittersweet and Brae Loch to shame, and it is way more interesting to play. Actually, I probably like it better to play than Thunderhawk too.

 

By the way, only $42 to walk on weekends, and carts are never required, so you can walk anytime.

Crane's Landing in Lincolnshire is okay. You have to book it through their website though to get the best prices. Usually around 3pm it's $30 for green fee's with cart. Last year, towards the fall it was $15 after 4pm for fee's with a cart. Definitely enough time to get 18 in.

Just played there this morning for the first time. $35 early bird special...can't beat that value for a course this nice.

]Probably the best value for the money if you wanna make somewhat of a drive
