Not able to download Sky Caddie "Course and Feature" upgrade

Hi everyone from down here in New Zealand

 

I'm into my second year with a Sky Caddie SG5 but am having real problems trying to upgrade both the firmware - my current version on the SG5 is 1.30 while my playing buddy is at 3.32 (his is the same model only he bought his in the last 2 months), and also to try and get the Course and Feature download. Its plastered all over the Sky Golf web site but whenever I try and select it nothing happens .... I've contacted Sky Golf Customer Support but they have just ignored me ... has anyone else had the problem described below???

My SkyCaddie membership is all up to date but when I select the "Course and Feature Package" option below ….

Thank you for contacting us. The 20 course expansion package allows the customer to store up to 20 courses on their SkyCaddie and provides instant access to additional information to help you manage your golf game.

 

 

This Course and Feature Expansion Package software upgrade allows you to store up to 20 courses on your SkyCaddie and automatically gives you green depth information. You can also use the Auto Distance Meter feature to measure your drives and fine-tune your short game. Mark your ball location and watch the meter as you move toward your target. Keep your watch in your bag, because your SkyCaddie will give you time of day on the screen full time.

 

 

To upgrade to this package, please follow the steps below:

 

1. Sync your SkyCaddie with the CaddieSync software on your desktop.

 

2. Click on "Account".

 

3. Scroll down and click on "Course & Feature Package" (It will be in orange under the "actions" tab)

 

4. Click "Add to Cart".

 

5. Enter in your credit card information and click "Preview all Information".

 

6. Click Submit.

But now they are ignoring me when I explain that it wont do anything from step 3 onwards .... aaarrrgghhh

 

I really don't know what else to do …if I choose "Add Sub Region" then I get the normal response … including Add to Cart >>

My Caddie Sync is the latest version and that's what I am trying to use to update the SG5 firmware from the installed v 1.30 ... or am I missing something? I've searched the web for somewhere to get a more up to date version of the software but cant find it anywhere!! Have you always been on version 3.x or have you upgraded from a lower version too??

There may be a possibility you have a minor conflict relating to the computer you are using. I use a Samsung Netbook on a wifi basis around the house and try as I might I cannot get the 'Map Course Request' element of the CaddieSync to work. I've tried and tried and tried ..... ad nauseam.

 

Yet when I use my home PC I have absolutely no problem in using the 'Map Course Request'. I have concluded that there is something minor the CaddieSync doesn't like about my Samsung (although I must say I downloaded the upgrade through it without any difficulty).

 

So I'm wondering whether there may be a similar issue relating to your computer? It just might be worth trying to download the upgrade from another computer - it may work?
