Does the Z-star spin more vs. ProV1x/TourIX around the green?

Love the ProV1 around the green but it spins too much for me off of the tee box. I played with the Zstar X the other day and loved the ball. I've heard that it really is as close to the perfect ball for most that you can get. Looking for lower spin off of the tee and staccato greenside performance.....thoughts?

I gotta say I love the Tour IX.

Check out Golf Digest ball hot list, it has all the stats for all the balls out right now. It has charts of launch and spin w/ driver vs. wedge, on all the balls out right now.

Isnt it more similar to the ProV1 off of the driver? And not that durable?

I really like the Srixon balls. I think the ZSX plays like the TP Red. ZS plays like the TP Black. Again, based on play and even the chart you see above, it's not a HUGE difference.

It's actually a little shocking to see how close some of balls of the same brand that are designed to perform with more/less spin play/perform very similar.

similar but not exact and no, all the cally balls are very durable (except any ball will shred with brand new high spin wedges with zip/Z/md grooves). As a comparison, i was testing the ProV1x and was tearing up the cover with my Ping S58's 6 iron. That's REALLY sad.

Anyway, the reason i said to test the Tour i is because it is what you are asking for imo. It is the normal ball that i play and it has a lot of greenside performance similar to the Prov1 BUT the driver distance is more than satisfactory. I only hit the Tour i maybe 5-10 yards behind the Tour ix which is an extremely low spinning driver ball however the greenside spin there is no comparison. Tour i provides plenty of check and drop/stop performance if you have a good shortgame. Look at the golfdigest chart for driver/wedge spin of the Tour i and the prov1 and you'll see there really isn't a comparison the Tour i spins TONS less off the driver (and it would have too to only be 5-10 yards behind the ix which as you can see from the chart spins low like a 2 piece ball) but the wedge spin is still quite satisfactory.

I have heard multiple comments about the clickyness of the tour i however i play an insert putter and almost every ball sounds/feels the same off that thing.
