Nike one tour vs. nike one platinum

How does the nike one platinum compare to the nike one tour? I know that the platinum spins alot.

I just gave s second look to one tour ball . I played one platinum last year and Z star this year .

One tour is a slightly firm IMO , almost spins as much as one platinum , does not balloon in the wind as much and is a slightly longer than one platinum . platinum has a bit better feel of the putter , Zstar is the best as far as putting is concerned but lacks the green side spin of the nike balls .

Nike staffer here...the One Tour spins like nobody's business. Defintiely spins more on wedge shots the the Plat did, almost too much I think sometimes. I'm currently experimenting with the Tour D. BTW, both the Tour and Tour D are waaaaayyyyyy long. These things go forever. Both are without doubt longer than their predecessors (NOP and NOB).

 

Soft greens I am playing the Tour when it firms up, I switch to the Tour.

The One Tour is a tremendous ball. It is longer than the Plat, a litter firmer but still has a great feel. I'm actually considering a change to the One Tour D. The Tour D is long, long, long with excellent greenside control. The difference in feel between the Tour and Tour D is noticeable but its not like the Tour D is a rock.

Plat is softer, cuts way easy with these new wedge grooves

Plat spin about 300-400 more for me

Plat is shorter by 5 yards for me even on irons

I like the plat a little better, but the Tour is close enough in greenside performance and more durable

i was at bethpage for tues and wed practice rounds and ran into a friend with whom i went to high school. he was working the range as a volunteer and shoulder to shoulder with the players (said he had a connection that got him that "job"). he said Tiger had his own balls (one plats) sent directly to bethpage but while hitting them on the range he was unhappy with the trajectory so asked what other balls they had available. since they were stocking virtually all models of the current tour-caliber balls, my friend told him they had One Tours and Tour Ds. Tiger asked for some regular Tours and they obviously complied. his trajectory came down and my friend said he never touched his stash of one plats for the rest of the range session.

 

the point of my anecdote you ask? Tours likely spin less and flight lower than the Plats.

i play both. Plats are cheaper right now so i play them more often. Plats tear up pretty fast for me. Tour D is my fav ball. Both spin bout the same for me. I dont see any difference in trajectory with either ball.

Anyone, know how it stacks up in terms of losing distance for lower swing speeds compared with the platinum? I remember the golf magazine test last year showing that the platinum lost a lot of distance with a 90 mph swing speed. Is it as dramatic with the one tour?
