Your pet peeves

I have just returned from a Senior Pro tournament and I am still ticked off off about the guy who broke my Driver in the middle of my final round, but that is another story.

On a number of the greens there was pieces of chew Tobacco, and sometimes in my lines. Now you have to wipe this nasty piece of $%^& off your line, DISGUSTING .... I tried my towel, but it is now ruined, stained worse than red mud off the club.

The only thing that would have made me feel better would have been the guys teeth laying next to the tobacco after they rotted out.

Sorry about the rant but, what ever happened to manners and etiquette.

I used to chew. I can understand when someone takes a dip out and throws it on the green. That is just inconsiderate. Throw it in the woods. Face it, some people are just a-holes.

 

I hate, hate, HATE when I see cigar ashes clumped up on greens.

What ticks me off is....finding sunflower hulls all over the green...they need to ban selling those at a course, and anyone caught eating them, shot!

I've played with a guy that works up big 'spits' and then leaves 'em on the green... it's totally disgusting! Frankly I don't get the whole 'spitting' thing that lots of guys seem to do but the ones I'm talking about are HUGE and well, try wiping those off a green. UGH.

I am a chewer and I also think it is rather inconsiderate for someone to spit or leave their chew on the greens. Have I spit on the greens before? I will admit that I have done it before but only because of routine I guess and forgetting where I was standing at that exact moment. That may sound somewhat untrue but after doing it for years and when outdoors sometimes you really do forget.

 

Now this is not to defend spitting on the greens because it really isn't considerate, but did everyone know that chew spit is good for the grass???? Little learning session for you all today. So the next time you see chew spit or just a wad of chew on the green, yes tell yourself that it is disgusting but to make you feel better, tell yourself the greens are being fertilized.

OK, I'll try to see the environmental advantages but the 'spit' I'm talking about doesn't involve any tobacco products... it's just vast amounts of plain ol' thick phlegm (never thought I'd type that word on this site!). ugh.

I've never run up against a phlegmy tobacco wad, but if we're talking about pet peeves what about the guys who can't turn the ringer off on their cell phone or feel the need to "check in" and make a call 13-14 times a round!

I just hate garbage on the course in general. I always see it in the woods and just off the tee box. I'm not sure about you guys but all of my local courses have a garbage can at every hole. Is it so hard to throw it in the cart, and I know everyone's bags have a lot of pockets, so why not just throw it in the bag until you can get to a garbage can? Its just common courtesy.
