Do I get the Igolf or the Bushnell ...

No difference beyond the logo. Buy what you can find cheaper.

If it is labeled the iGolf Neo it may have the original firmware. For info on what is going on with the firmware go to the long Neo thread.

Other than branding, I don't believe there are any internal differences.

 

Regarding the firmware that can be on either unit, I'll summarize from the long thread. I don't know if all Bushnell units shipped with V2 firmware, but V2 can be put on the iGolf for sure.

 

V1 Firmware

 

Will show distances up to 9999 yards.

Have to scroll down/up to see Front Center Back.

 

V2 Firmware

 

Will show a max of 999 yards.

Front Center Back all on initial screen.

Has auto-shutoff.

While measuring your shot distance the unit will still show the distance to the center of the green. I can't remember if this was available in V1.

 

The sync software on your PC is a whole different story.

 

Older non V3, works great. I never had an issue.

 

New v3.0.x has a much better interface, however the following complaints have been identified by users, but not acknowledged by iGolf, and I'm not sure if they're both attributable to software alone.

 

- Sometimes an 18 hole course will only show the first 9 holes.

- Complaints of yardages being inaccurate.
