Legit Futura?

Looks like Older Model from pics

Hey guys, I was wondering if this futura is legit. The thing that worried me was no shaft band on a new putter.

New, I rolled a few putts with it, felt like it should. I was just worried about the shaft band, and the Red baby T grip has a dot near the top, in line with the middle spike on the cameron Crown.

Like that, but with the crown Centered, I hadn't seen that dot before on the grip. One other thing I noticed is the length on the bottom of the back horseshoe isn't there, I had seen that on most Futuras.

I don't think the very first ones that came out had the length designator. The Fake ones really looked off. You can send an email to the Cameron shop and they can tell you for sure...You don't have to be a member to email customer service.

It was just a tip off to be a little suspicious. I was just being paranoid I guess. It took forever to get this sent by the seller, and got me really paranoid about it not coming at all, so I guess I was just looking for something wrong with it.

i bought a futura that looked exactly like that with the curved sole and rubbery feel from an auction site took it to my pro and said it was fake so i got my money back

 

it looks and feels likethe matal used has been painted with a clear coat of sumthing - nothing like my friends futura he got from american discount (UK)

 

the sole is curved on the bottom of the face rather than very sharp points where the sole bends and curves up and out.

 

thats my $0.02

Do you mind sharing which ebay seller you bought from? I bought one a while ago from kansasimports (i think), and it looks very similar to yours. It is a fake! I have a real futura in comparison and they are completely different. The sole on the real one is sort of ground down where it meets the face. Also, the horseshoe part of the real one is much smoother and a different shade. The milling on the face of the fake is also too rough. The weird part is that the fake still putted nicely. Another tip off from my purchase was the fake headcover that was sent. It was not padded at all like the real one. Beware of ebay sellers that have Futura putters, and private feedback. Luckily i was able to get a full refund.

If it is fake, then it is a darn good one! I owned a Futura in the past, and the only thing that I thought was suspect about this one is the darker shade on the horseshoe. On a 'legit' putter, they horseshoe and the body will be the same texture and colour.

Oh, and another thing to point out that I just noticed is...no length stamped on the bottom of the horseshoe, I know if it was 35" stock, then it would have '35' stamped on the bottom of the horseshoe, I don't mean to cause any controversy, but just wanted to get what I saw out there for discussion.

Not a Cameron expert by any means and I could be wrong, but thought that the orignial ones (first few batches) did not have the marking on the horseshoe?

 

That back horseshoe does look a little different (duller/darker) than the one that I owned as well.....was it painted/sand balsted?? I know that you can buy weights for the center to make it a little heavier...I wonder if you buy after market back weights as well to make the MOI higher?
