Loving the GolfLogix and Blackberry BOLD

Guys I am loving the Blackberry Bold with the GolfLogix app. For me, it works really well. Since I was always taking my work phone with me to the course, this just makes so much more sense. I feel it is pretty accurate say within 5 yards and I am really digging the score card and stat features. EXAMPLE: I played a new course 2 weeks ago and I used the stats for the whole round. When the round was over, I shot a 90 and was looking at what I needed to work on (other than I had a very poor ball striking day). I was amazed that I had 1 GIR. 1 GIR... I actually felt pretty lucky to have shot 90 after seeing that. But then I started to think - if I had just hit the green 6 more time, heck that might have been an 84...

Anyway, my point being to this post is that if you ahve a Blackberry or Smartphone, you really should try out the GolfLogix program before you buy a Skycaddie or uPro, or whatever else. Its free to try...

Oh and I have owned a Skycaddie and uPro and like the GolfLogix program better.

I tried the 24 hour free ap on my blackberry and when I went to track my drives my phone froze twice. The second time I had to pull the battery out. Its a nice ap but I'll wait for the 2nd version to arrive.

Id' like that app more if I was able to score holes "offlline." It seems like the only way to use the app is live.

I have it now on my Blackbery Curve and love it. It uses up the battery if you use the stats and scoring feature. I ordered another bigger battery for that. I used it without the stats today and battery was still good when I finished.
The guys in my group with the Skycaddy's etc hate me for getting the same thing for $40 when they paid $300+. It is an amazing thing for $40. :good:

I have it on my BB Tour and love it. I bought a few of the Parformance books to use for keeping stats, so it is not necessary to the Golflogix stats, though I still do. It doesnt drain my battery quite as much as I thought it would either. I can play a full round, using the stats feature, and still have 1/2 charge when done. I bought a charger for my truck, so it is no issue. I have found that is is pretty accurate within a few yards of what I can pace off of the course markers.

This may be a stupid question but has there any other charges by your phone carrier? I am scarred to download and use to only get a 500 dollar bill the next month.

As far as I figured, it downloads the courses the first time you are on that specific course and to synchronize the online data it accesses the internet, too. Besides that I didn't see any data coming/going from it so far. But no guarantee for that.

Another thing I have noticed:
Once you put the data into your online account the tracked club statistics differ from the one in he phone. The one online are always 10-25 yards shorter. Anyone experienced that, too?
