Tour/Staff Bags

I am looking for a tour/staff bag. Anyone have a Titleist s82 or TaylorMade TMX? Which is built better? Thanks.

I have the TM TMX 9.5'' staff bag and it's a great bag.

Plenty of space, looks great and very tough too. IMO Titleist isn't as sharp looking as the TM bag...

I have the older S44 bag and its great. It has excellent storage spaces, I have yet to find another staff bag as good as this one. I wish TM's bags were so big around.

I recently managed to blag a friend's castoff Titleist 10 1/2" job. Cracking bag, well made and, unlike the TM one, you can be confident the colour you've got won't be out of fashion by next week. The red bits are a bit gaudy, but it just about strikes a decent balance between foofaraw and novel, eye-carching design.

If a bit of posing is of paramount importance, the Titleist logos on the side are large enough to be visible from a low earth orbit.

To be fair Mat the TM bag I have is the same bag that has been the standard offering outside of the major tournament editions for the past 18 months now. So TMAG have not brought out a new one every week so mine is still nicely "in fashion"

I used the Titleist S82 (10,5") for the whole season. I couldn´t be happier, HIGH quality bag with tons of space for everything. Only bag that will ever replace it might be a new version from Titleist.

But to be fair, I think most of the real staff bags are very high quality and have lots of space. It comes down to what you personally like. For me it´s still the S82 without a question, if I needed a bag right now, I would buy it again.

Janko you might need to get the Callaway staff bag to go with your driver and new X-Proto's.

Fair play Gareth and, to be perfectly honest, being in fashion (at least as far as golf bags are concerned) matters about as much to me as not walking on cracks on the pavement. On the odd occasion I lug my clubs to the practice ground in a big bag or give the old Turfglider trolley an outing, it's usually the last-generation Titleist one (with the grey/silver stripe) or a 2001 vintage Nike one complete with the little crossed clubs crest-thing on it that gets the job. I think both look nicer than the newest Titleist one and I also feel a bit of a tool lugging a big bag around with (currently) some other bugger's name on the front of it. I got the bag for 'nowt, but getting a blank front section out of Titleist is like trying to get an audience with the Pope.

The red white and black TM bags aren't actually a bad looking bag - apart from the cheese grater-esque side mouldings - but the more fashion-conscious members of my place have been known to be driven to near nervous breakdowns by the fact that they haven't got a whatever-coloured-major-edition bag complete with the custom Jan Craigs to plonk atop it.

If I were going to have one, I'd trump the cognoscente at my club and get a Paula Creamer-esque pink one to take the mickey. I've actually still got a late '80s Taylor Made bag in the loft. A big all-white one, with red and white trimming. Now there's a bag no-one else is likely to have.

I have a question for anyone that has had the titlies s82 or s83 staff bag. I know one is a 9.5 and the other is a 10.5. How well did it go onto a cart. I have had a 9.5 nike bag before and did not have a problem but I have had a 10.5 TM and it would not go on the back of a cart if anyone else was with me.
